Job Description To develop and manage a strategy and operating model for the Claims function that supports the growth and development of the iWYZE business. This role oversees the provision of a comprehensive, fit-for-purpose claims framework, ensuring effective management of the entire claims process from registration to settlement. Management of the Claims Department: Develop and implement strategies for the Claims Department in partnership with the Executive: Operations, aligning with the business model and broader corporate strategies. Manage the Claims Department’s strategy and operations, ensuring integration with the Operations Division’s value chain. Oversee the design and management of claims processes including registration, investigation, evaluation, fulfillment, payment, subrogation, salvage, and procurement. Establish a departmental Balanced Scorecard to measure and manage the department’s strategic objectives. Areas Reporting to the Head of Claims: Claims Registration: Manage the initial claims intake process, ensuring efficiency and customer satisfaction. Claims Investigation and Evaluation: Oversee the assessment of claims to determine validity and settlement amounts. Claims Fulfilment and Payment: Ensure timely and accurate claims resolution and payment. Subrogation and Salvage: Direct recovery processes to recoup costs from third parties. Claims Procurement: Supervise the acquisition of goods and services necessary for effective claims resolution. Optimise Best-Practice Service Delivery: Develop customer-centric strategies to enhance service delivery in line with future needs and requirements. Maintain excellent relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, managing service level agreements effectively. Embed a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the Claims Department. Financial Management and Control: Develop and manage budgets for the Claims Department, ensuring alignment with overall financial objectives. Manage vendor relationships and budgetary allocations for projects, ensuring cost efficiency and effective financial control. Leadership and People Management: Lead and empower the claims management team to achieve best practice and operational excellence. Foster a high-performance culture, identifying and nurturing top talent, and developing succession plans for key roles. Act as a change agent, supporting major transformations within the function. Required Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Law, Engineering, Actuarial or related field; advanced qualifications such as an MBA or relevant professional certification preferred. Proven experience in claims management, ideally within the insurance industry, demonstrating a thorough understanding of all aspects of claims operations. Strong leadership skills with experience in strategic planning and people management. Competency Descriptors: Strategic Thinking: Ability to formulate strategies that align with business goals.
