Someonewho is not scared to get stuck in, get innovative all whilst being super-attentive to details.Your primary focus will be the expansion/deployment and maintenance of our ever-growing GPON and access network.We need someone who can proactively problem solve and oversee the activities involved in quality resolution of complextechnical issues, responding with an appropriate sense of urgency to problems escalated to Network Engineer’s level.Whilst this is a standard Monday to Friday, 8 to 5 job, we pride ourselves on exemplary customer service and will need youto provide support on a rotational shift basis in order to achieve this. Job Duties: • Rollout access network according to predefined standard • Maintain existing access networks • Rollout and maintain GPON network • Implementing monitoring systems to track the network • Proactively action and address items which might affect network performance • Help design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability networks • Action tickets or faults highlighted by NOC or customers • And any other reasonable task Requirements • Completed CCNA is preferred • 2+ years working within an ISP based environment in a similar position • Experience and knowledge of Cisco routers and switches (IOS) • Experience and knowledge of Juniper routers and switches (JUNOS) • Experience and knowledge of Extreme Networks switches (EXOS) • Experience and knowledge of IP addressing and subnetting (IPv4 &IPv6) • Experience and knowledge of Routing protocols including BGP and OSPF • Experience and knowledge of MPLS and Metro Ethernet protocols • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting ability • Basic knowledge of Linux Servers • Experience and knowledge of Radius (AAA) • Experience and knowledge consumer connectivity protocols (DHCP and PPPoE) • Experience and knowledge of Excel • Basic knowledge of VMWare and virtualization • Valid driver license and own transport • Proficiency with source-control tools (GitHub, Bitbucket, etc.) • Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment • Familiar with monitoring systems/tools e.g. Netdata/Zabbix/Iris • Reduced Gap Cover Rates (Turnberry Premier) • Retirement Annuity Contribution (Allan Gray) • Medical Insurance (Momentum - Health4Me) • Discounted Internet Connectivity • Free Employee Wellness Programme (ICAS) • Free barista prepared coffee and snacks from our in-house cafe. • Exposure to latest industry technologies and standards • Lastly, a work environment that rivals the very best!
