We are currently seeking a skilled Factory Engineer to join our team at our facilities in the Stellenbosch area. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our warehouse and production equipment, as well as overseeing general facility maintenance.Responsibilities:Managing maintenance and upkeep of the plant and facilitiesImplementing and enhancing efficiencies within the plantDeveloping and maintaining a comprehensive maintenance scheduleEnsuring adequate levels of spare parts inventory and liaising with suppliersOverseeing new expansion projects and managing project timelinesBudget management for both capital and maintenance expendituresEnsuring compliance with relevant legislation, including OSHA standardsCreating a safe working environment for all staffPromptly addressing breakdowns and conducting preventative maintenanceExploring innovative solutions to minimize production downtime and boost productivityIdentifying and evaluating potential new maintenance suppliersMonitoring and optimizing ammonia plant operations to meet required standardsRequirements:Requirements for this role include:A degree in Industrial or Mechanical or Electrical EngineeringMatric qualification with a strong foundation in MathematicsProficiency in CAD software is advantageousExcellent computer skillsPrior experience with ammonia refrigeration and food processing plants is preferredKnowledge of PLC programming and inverters is advantageous3-5 years of experience in refrigeration and/or food industriesFamiliarity with high-capacity 3-phase motors and mechanical servicingUnderstanding of pneumatic systems, switchgear, and water treatment processesWillingness to work extended hours and occasional weekendsIf you have not been contacted within 14 working days then you have not been shortlisted for this specific role.
