We are looking for an Infrastructure and Security Engineer to manage and secure all aspects of our client’s global hybrid IT infrastructure, encompassing on-premises, Azure, and SaaS-hosted services. The successful candidate will ensure high standards for performance, security, resilience, and compliance, working collaboratively with the global IT team, external IT partners, and other business units.Key Responsibilities- Infrastructure Management:** Oversee the global hybrid infrastructure to ensure uptime, security, and performance.- Optimization:** Identify and implement best practices for continuous infrastructure improvement.- Security Systems:** Develop, manage, and run IT security systems and processes to mitigate breaches and protect sensitive information.- Technical Security:** Maintain the security posture with a focus on continuous technical security improvements.- Disaster Recovery:** Conduct disaster recovery and penetration testing, addressing issues promptly.- Support:** Collaborate with the Technology and Innovation team and the broader business to support complex issues.- Evaluation:** Assess new technologies, make recommendations, and implement improvements.Competencies and Attributes- Broad understanding of IT fundamentals.- In-depth experience with the Microsoft stack across cloud and on-premises environments.- Strong multi-site networking experience (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, switching).- Experience managing physical and virtual data centre environments.- Understanding of technical and data security concepts.- Effective troubleshooting skills with the ability to engage additional support when necessary.- Strong organisational, prioritization, and delegation skills.- Self-motivated and proactive, capable of working independently without micro-management.- Excellent communication skills and a personable nature.- Willingness to work out of hours to accommodate service-affecting work or incident response.Qualifications and ExperienceRequired Experience:- Minimum 5 years in system administration or infrastructure management roles.Beneficial Qualifications and Experience:- Educational qualifications in IT or related fields.- Vendor qualifications.- Experience within the financial services industry.Technology Experience:- Azure (IaaS, serverless PaaS, SaaS components)- Office 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams)- Microsoft Defender- MS SQL- Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops- Mimecast- Okta- Silver Peak SD-WANIf you are a driven and self-motivated professional with a passion for maintaining high standards in IT infrastructure and security, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
