Engineering & Design Design all Composite Components & Deck Gear to meet structural requirements, functional requirements and certification standards, ensuring suitability for manufacture and that designs are within cost parameters.Create CAD Models (2D & 3D) & complete calculations for the design and specification of Composite Components & Deck Gear for new product design or engineering change requests.Complete costing analyses and material forecasts for prototype development.Research new parts or materials to evaluate viability as required for new product development or ECR projects, including cost comparisons to existing equivalents and providing materials forecasts to the logistics department, as required for the implementation of long-lead-time items.Prepare and ensure the BOM Specification is always correct and updated.Complete critical quality checks during new part prototyping or ECR implementation on all moulds, parts and installations related to drawings.Technical Documentation and administrationCreate and completing drawings and CNC files for the manufacture, assembly and installation of Composite and Deck Gear ComponentsCompile or update all technical documentation, including but not limited to Technical Reports, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Technical Bulletins and Retrofit ProceduresUpdate the status of Engineering Change Requests (E.C.R.) and provide feedback to the relevant parties on progress and manage the implementation of changes stemming from the ECR.Ensuring all administrative documentation associated with the functioning of the Design & Technical Engineering Department are completed, including Design variation Orders (DVO), BOM Change Request (BCR) and Technical Quotation request (TQR).Ensure that all trackers are updates, including but not limited to Milestone Tracker and drawing register.Stakeholder SupportSupport the Tooling Department onsite by checking plug geometry during construction, clarifying details or providing additional information as required.Support Production (Moulding shop, Assembly line, Joinery shop) onsite during Prototyping & ECR implementation, by providing explanations on both design intent and new processes, emphasising critical design aspects and assistance with finding and understanding required documentation before the new design is implemented.Support the Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineers and Process Engineers, by providing technical input and clarity on the design intent, as required.Support the Logistics & Stores Departments with BOM queries, workstation allocation, general explanation of part usage and explanations on expected part or material usage on new products whenever a risk of shortfalls or obsolescence may exist.Support Warranty by providing technical feedback relating to warranty claims.Support Commissioning by answering any technical or BOM related queries and performing quality checks during the implementation of new products or engineering changes.Support Technical Purchasing by answering any technical queries related to TQR’s or advising on stock code redundancy.Support Project Management by providing constant feedback on the status of work for new projects. This includes, but is not limited to drawings, CNC files, BOM packs, and quality check.
