Job Description:We are looking for a skilled and experienced Field Technician to join our team in Meyersdal, Alberton. The ideal candidate will provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues. Additionally, they will lead and mentor junior IT technicians, install and maintain hardware and software components, administer network infrastructure, manage IT systems, coordinate projects, and collaborate with vendors.Duties & Responsibilities: Advanced Technical Support: Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues. Diagnose and resolve complex technical problems efficiently. Mentorship and Leadership: Lead and mentor junior IT technicians, providing guidance and support in resolving complex technical problems. Assist in influx support as needed. Installation and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software components, including servers, desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals. Network Administration: Administer and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. System Management and Monitoring: Manage and monitor IT systems for performance, reliability, and security. Implement proactive measures to prevent downtime and data breaches. Project Coordination: Coordinate IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments. Ensure minimal disruption to operations during project implementation. Vendor Collaboration: Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to procure IT equipment and services. Resolve technical issues in a timely manner. Documentation: Develop and maintain IT documentation, including system configurations, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures. Security Audits and Assessments: Conduct regular security audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities. Implement security measures to protect against cyber threats. Continuous Learning: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in IT support and administration. Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users on IT systems, applications, and security best practices. Desired Experience & Qualification: Proven experience in IT support and administration. Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, Active Directory, Office 365, and networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. Interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) principles and practices is desirable. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, and other Microsoft exams) preferred.
