ResponsibilitiesWhat we’re looking for: We are looking for an FSQ Specialist to join our dynamic team. The role is physically located in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal and will be reporting to the Groceries and Warehouses QCFS Lead. The role will ensure PepsiCo Warehouse Management Standard deployment in warehouses and distribution centres, thus minimizing the risk of non-compliance and ensuring a quality and food safe environment. The role is a custodian of all Quality and Food Safety initiatives and drives execution at floor level with the support of the leadership team to ensure adherence to all Pepsico standards. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the following:Deployment of the Warehouse Management Standard at all warehouses and distribution centresEducate and train all relevant personnel on the requirements of the new warehouse management standardConduct a gap assessment to determine which SOP’s are available . Ensure that the relevant SOP’s are updated and drafted to cater for the new Warehouse Management Standard.The Warehouse Management Standard includes the below that require implementation:Storage practice and storage conditions inspectionsTraceability management and mock recallsPallet inspectionsWaste managementAllergen managementBasic AIB requirements implementationPersonel Hygiene , cleaning and PRP’s managementIPM managementLeading internal and external warehouse auditsOversee quality and food safety aspects of products, returns and rework processMaintain and monitor compliance to QFS policies and proceduresManage pest control, cleaning and house keeping processes and monitor effectivenessConduct Risk Assessments at the warehouse to identify potential hazards that may have an impact on Quality and Food SafetyConduct periodic audits as appropriate in the warehousing and distribution sites and ensure corrective actions are taken in a timely mannerQuality and Food safety management system ( document management) controlDeployment and monitoring of Culture of Quality initiative at all warehousesEffectively engage with cross-functional teams to deliver the requirements Work closely with Category QC leads to sustain PEP quality SystemsUpskilling all warehouses through QFS capability building initiativesProvide process support to facilitate Monthly Reporting on the performance of the warehouses (WMS), and agreed KPI’s QualificationsWhat will qualify you for the role University degree in an FSQ technical discipline requiredAt least 5 years’ experience in quality control or assurance, food safety, regulatory affairs or risk or in food /beverage manufacturing/warehousing environment is a strong advantage.A high level of organization savvy (both internally and externally) is a must for this role due to its cross-functional interdependencies, interactions with 3rd party Vendors and service providers. Ability to work with others across different functions is key. Quality and Food safety management competencies such as problem solving, detail oriented, auditing is key. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to represent PepsiCo internally and externally.
