We are urgently looking for a Business Intelligence Business Analyst for our client in Cape Town. Experience with QlikSense, SSRS and Oracle is a MUST.This is a contract role, approx hourly rate in the range of R 500 - 600ph dependent on experienceHigh level job responsibilities:Practical expertise in analytics, data visualisation, or reporting functions is requiredProvide reporting functionality to the business unit:For each report currently being produced from the Data Warehouse (ODWH) or EDL (Enterprise Data Lake) or model produced from the EDL using existing ERP/IP system data:Ensure that the reasons the report/model exists (i.e. the business objectives it serves) are clearly, completely and unambiguously recorded.Ensure that the following is documented:Users of the report/model.Frequency with which it is produced.Frequency with which the tables from which it is produced are updated.Impact on business operations and decision making if not available.Establish whether it contains data (from specific business units) and whether it serves both businessesUnderstand and define (with user input) each data element and measure reflected in the report/model, in business terms.Identify the ODWH / EDL tables and fields from which each data element reflected in the report/model is obtained.Identify the source database, schema, tables and fields for each ODWH/EDL data element reflected in the report/model.Establish and record the extraction and transformation rules for each data element.Establish whether other BI reports contain similar content and whether opportunity exists to combine such reports.Flag the report as to whether it is produced entirely from existing ERP/IP system data or whether it includes data from other sources.For each report produced entirely from existing ERP/IP system data, establish whether a report with the same information is available as a standard report in the new ERP/IP system.For each report not produced entirely from existing ERP/IP system data, review the ODWH design for the tables from which it is produced, and:Develop the appropriate Data Model for the tables and attributes that would be required to produce the report content from the EDL.Identify whether any of the data already exists in the EDL.Work with Business & Data Stewards to identify, resolve and prevent data quality issues.Maintain meta data documentation and processes Experience & Skills required:Reporting, data mining and data analysis experience (SQL, SSRS required)Data Visualization tools experience using Qliksense is a mustWorking experience with Oracle Experience in creating and working with Data Models Ability to combine, model and analyse data from various sources Ability to draw insights from data, summarise findings and make recommendations for improvementAdvanced Excel10 or more years’ proven experience in the field of Business Intelligence and Business AnalysisExperience in the retail environment will be beneficial
