Introduction to the role: Zutari, a leading consulting firm specializing in engineering, infrastructure, construction, and advisory services, is at the forefront of driving sustainable development and growth across diverse industries. As we embrace the opportunities presented by the digital era, we seek a visionary Managing Director to lead our Project Management business unit, reporting directly to the CE Africa. In your role as Managing Director of Project Management at Zutari, you will be instrumental in shaping our strategic direction and operational excellence within project management. Your key responsibilities include orchestrating the development and implementation of best practice principles to foster a culture of innovation and excellence across the organization. You'll lead a team of seasoned project managers and other professionals, ensuring their alignment with our organisational goals and values while spearheading the successful execution of projects. A core focus of your role will involve prioritizing client management and enhancing client value. This entails fostering strong client relationships, deeply understanding their needs, and ensuring that Zutari's project management services consistently deliver tangible benefits and exceed expectations. Additionally, you will be at the forefront of promoting our project management services to clients, driving revenue generation through commercialization, and providing robust governance to safeguard project integrity and success. Role responsibilities: Strategic Leadership in Building Project Management Capability : Develop and implement overarching strategies to enhance and innovate Zutari's project management capabilities, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and industry best practices. Provide guidance and oversight to ensure the integration of cutting-edge project management methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. Talent Development and Team Building: Drive initiatives to recruit, develop, and retain top-tier talent in project management, fostering a high-performing team capable of delivering exceptional results and driving organisational growth. Establish frameworks for career progression and professional development within the project management team, ensuring alignment with long-term organisational goals. Resource Deployment Management: Lead resource management efforts, optimizing allocation and utilization to support project success and organisational growth. Develop and implement resource management frameworks to ensure alignment with project priorities and business objectives. Business Development and Revenue Generation: Lead efforts to promote and commercialize Zutari's project management services, driving revenue growth and market expansion through targeted initiatives. Collaborate closely with business development teams to identify and capitalize on new opportunities, ensuring alignment with client needs and organisational capabilities. Client Management and Governance: Oversee client management efforts, ensuring alignment of project delivery with client expectations and organisational objectives, while driving satisfaction and value. Establish governance frameworks for major projects, providing oversight and guidance to ensure successful delivery and client satisfaction. Intervention for Project Success : Provide support for projects facing challenges, leveraging insights and analytics to identify areas for improvement and drive successful project outcomes. Establish frameworks for project assessments and corrective actions to mitigate risks and ensure project success. +15 years proven work experience in large projects. +7 years leading a PMO or management specialist within a PMO. Bachelor's degree in engineering or related Built Environment degree, advanced degree such as Masters or PhD will be advantageous. Post graduate qualification/s in Project Management, Contracts or Commercial Management. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desireable. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices. Closing date for applications is 29 May 2024.
