Main job functionPurposes of the positionWe are looking for Accounts Payable Supervisors who will be responsible for managing the accounts payable team, overseeing the processing of supplier / vendor invoices and payment transactions, and preparing relevant reports for our African group. Key Responsibilities & Functions: Prepares reports regarding cash flow; ensuring correct payments are made in a timely manner Manages and supervises accounts payable clerks. Enforces the policies, procedures and guidelines for proper handling and coding of invoices to maintain accurate general ledger transactions Ensure internal controls are implemented and monitored Reviews, approves vendor reconciliations, and ensures queries are addressed timeously. Reconciles accounts payable age analysis to general ledger Engage with vendors to communicate payment cycles and terms. Ensure vendor reconciliations are prepared and reviewed according to set deadlines Communicate with the business to ensure that ad-hoc suppliers are made aware of our Payment cycles; Liaise with BU manager regarding queries and processed items. Ensures proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records Prepare all necessary information for any audits (statutory, internal, tax, BEE, etc.) Performs other related duties as assigned by management Skills Minimum of 5 years accounts payable experience, 2 of which with supervisor experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills High level of integrity, accuracy, attention to detail and good organisation skills Ability to work under pressure and to consistently meet deadlines Ability to prioritise and organise workload with a sense of urgency Be responsible and accountable for all work performed Strong mathematical and analytical skills as well as a strong understanding of the accounts Payable function Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications Be able to motivate, train and manage team Inter-personal skills Time management Positive attitude Self-confidence Ability to manage change The ability to work under pressure Required Qualification Degree, Diploma or Higher Certificate in Finance and/or Accounting Excellence in Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Experience in Shipshape and DAX A Consultant will be in touch if you are shortlisted for the position.
