Department Manager (Moulding) – Helderberg Area.A renowned Aviation Engineering company is looking for a ‘Department Manager (Moulding)’ to join their team on a full-time permanent basis in the Helderberg Area, Cape Town.Excellent salary (subject to background and experience) on offer and internal career advancementopportunities.Requirements:A Production / Operations Management degree / diploma with a minimum 10 years of experience working in Composites OR a related industry.Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a managerial role.Very strong people management skills, and the ability to communicate across departmental boundaries.Must have experience in Composite lay up techniques for Prepregs.Advanced knowledge of composites manufacturing processes; Good technical skills.Strong Leadership abilities; Ability to guide a team to the common goal; Proactive; Goal orientated.Strong technical and problem-solving skills.Requires knowledge in cost estimation for the manufacturing process. (Labour hour rate, part process cost etc.).SAP knowledge or similar ERP system.Key responsibilities:Manages staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to achieve business goals and expectations.Responsible for development, justification, and implementation of continuous process improvement initiatives.Responsible for department planning, coordination of scheduling, ensuring materials are available, and work stations and equipment are well maintained with very little down time.Implements and develops manufacturing processes, departmental SOP’s while adhering to all company manufacturing standards/methods and policies, including safety related initiatives.Develop and implement KPI’s/ metrics to measure and track performance.Optimizes the moulding processes in terms of consistent quality and productivity.Central resource for technical moulding expertise to Operations, Engineering, Tooling and Maintenance.Responsible for development and implementation of appropriate cost control and cost reduction initiatives within responsible functions.Collaboratively works with Engineers to identify moulding approach, set quality requirements, and identify design shortcomings.Oversees planning for new product development process, selection of resources, tools and inspection methods.Practices and maintains 5S standards in the workplace.Perform within the physical and environmental demands of the job.#J-18808-Ljbffr
