The position is for approximately 12 months to cover a parental leave period, and there is flexibility with the time fraction between 0.8 and full time. There is also the possibility to take on the position of responsibility of Deputy Head of Outdoor Education for the right candidate.The Outdoor Education / PE Teacher will be expected to teach Outdoor Education and PE across all year levels, while also contributing to the school’s Camp and Activities programs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Designing and implementing learning and teaching programs using knowledge of curriculum, assessment and reporting requirementsDeveloping teaching activities that incorporate differentiated strategies to meet the specific learning needs of students across the full range of abilities.Using effective teaching strategies to integrate ICT into learning and teaching programs to make selected content relevant and meaningful.Planning and implementing well-structured learning and teaching programs or lesson sequences that engage students and promote learning.Selecting and using relevant teaching strategies to develop knowledge, skills, problem solving and critical and creative thinking.Providing timely, effective and appropriate feedback to students about their achievement relative to their learning goals.Selection CriteriaEssential:An understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with childrenRelevant classroom teaching experience or experience working with childrenProfessional practice that is strongly aligned with the expectations of The Woodleigh Teacher.DesirableExperience in designing, implementing and assessing effective curriculumExperience in the International Baccalaureate Middle Years ProgrammeConditions of EmploymentA VIT Registration is required for this position.Qualification and First Aid Training confirmation is required for this position.For further information download the Job descriptionIf you have any queries relating to this position please contacthr@woodleigh.vic.edu.au.Applications should be addressed to HR and submitted online by 5pmTuesday 14 May 2024.Please note applications will be reviewed upon receipt and interviewing may commence prior to this closing date.
