All our employees enjoy access to dynamic career opportunities across different fields and industries.Join us and Make an Impact.The Purpose of the RoleWe havean opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our Smart Energy ThermalSolution team in Johannesburg.At theJohannesburg site we manufacture and supply high quality water metering productsto our customers within the region.Workingas part of the site leadership and technical team, the successful candidatewill own end to end Quality for the site starting to ensure that we offerproducts and services that surpasses the customers’ expectations for highquality offerings.They willalso be responsible for maintaining ISO and/or other standard requirements for thesite. All the key metrics must be met and will drive corrective actions for anydeviations from the target and ensure implementation and sustenance ofcorrective actions taken. They shall lead from the front to showcase a ‘ZERODefects’ culture.Key ResponsibilitiesAccountable for End-to-End Quality on allaspects for products and customers.Able to Lead Quality Management Systemimplementation (ISO9001) and other QMS standards and internal and externalaudits coordination as well as provide follow up on corrective actionsimplementation/closure driven from audit findings to eliminate gaps againstthe ISO standard.Work with the site Operations and Technicalteam to drive quality metrics to exceed plan.Initiate, investigate, bring to closure, anddocument customer complaints by providing satisfactory results of problemroot cause elimination.Improve First Pass Yield, Reduce ManufacturingScrap and reduce warranty costs.Understand the product returns and driveimprovements on product performance.Measure Cpk for Critical processes at eachsiteApprove Returns materials decisions and workon strategic warranty processes.Create appropriate MOS for measurement andtracking of all Quality metrics, representing performance data for thesite at EMEA Quality team level.Perform Failure tracking, root cause analysisto identify trends and ensure implementation of effective corrective action.Utilize standard statistical analysis andproblem-solving techniques to determine product acceptance and evaluateprocess capabilities to eliminate product/ process wastes regardingquality.Define, implement, and validate processcontrols to avoid defective product escapes to internal or external customers.Work with site cross functional team to ensurethat critical issues are resolved with minimum downtime for manufacturing lines.YOU MUST HAVE>3 years' experience working in a fast-moving manufacturing environment as part of cross-functional site teamBachelor’s degree Quality, Engineering orSupply Chain/Operations ManagementAbility to influence and provide leadershipacross a cross-functional organization.Lean Experience and/or Green Belt certified.Strong experience of high-volume low mix manufacturingPractical knowledge of ISO9001:2015 and otherQuality and Industry standardsEnsure lab accreditation in compliance withSANAS regulations (leading audits with SANAS)Run approval processes of products with SABSand NRCSUnderstand the national standardLM-P-045-09-19Experience of leading site audits and active engagementwith industry and government regulatory bodiesTrack record of achieving results inchallenging assignmentsExcellent business acumen to facilitate teams throughend-to-end value stream activities.Results oriented with history of achievementagainst stretch goals, able to develop and deliver against plan.In depth knowledge of Quality ImprovementTools, Problem Solving Tools & Techniques – Six Sigma, SPC, 5Why’s,FMEA & Control Plans, Capability studies (Cp, CpK, PpK) etc.Self-motivated with positive attitude thatfocus on delivering results; able to work independently with minimumsupervision.Extensive experience driving continuousimprovement and process excellence.
