Job Description To develop, maintain and enhance Business Architecture for the relevant business areas aligned to capability/work items and platform thinking across the eco system; work closely with the technical architects to ensure the data, solution and application architecture is in line with the business architecture; and ensure effective implementation thereof aligned to enterprise strategy, business strategy and platform thinking. Manage expenditure planning and variances within approved budget parameters Drive shareholder value through profitable and integrated frameworks, guidelines, and optimisation plans Align, integrate, and innovate in area of speciality across the Business to enable the creation of integrated and specialised solutions and sustainable competitive advantage Design and implement new or cutting-edge systems, solutions and processes and initiate innovations and changes aligned to business strategy Apply broad enterprise-wide view of the business and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, capabilities, and governance in developing architecture Set tactical and strategic goals that provide traceability through the organisation and are accurately mapped to metrics that provide ongoing governance Identify external entities such as customers, suppliers, partners, and external systems that interact with the business and their people, resources, and controls involved in the processes Articulate the relationships among roles, capabilities and business units, the decomposition of those business units into subunits, and the internal or external management of those units Identify data shared across the Capability, Customer Segment or Product Pillar and broader FirstRand and the relationships between the data entities and considerations of the systemic effect of the business and technology processes on other business units within FirstRand Apply a structured architecture approach and methodology for capturing the key views of the Capability, Customer Segment or Product Pillar Develop and maintain an architecture roadmap Align the architecture with other impacted Capability Architectures of the platform Research business and industry trends to keep the architecture current in the group and aligned to industry trends where appropriate Develop strategy and ensure alignment to business strategy and platform thinking Apply design thinking to which enables synthesising of many ideas into big-picture view that shows the connection between business intention and business action Identify, review, and guide solution architectures for implementation or consumption of the business Act as liaison conveying information needs of the business to Information Technology, and data constraints to the business with equal conveyance regarding business strategy and Information Technology strategy Provide business help and guidance and provide motivation to the technology team and support Act as an agent for Enterprise change using business architecture to agitate, initiate action and challenge others via business designs and solutions, which drive requirements to the business operational architecture Develop and apply model-based representations that can be adjusted as required to collect, aggregate or disaggregate complex and conflicting information about the business Visualise and create high-level models that can be used in future analysis to extend and mature the business architecture Assimilate and correlate disconnected documentation and drawings and articulate collective relevance to the organisation and to high-priority business issues Negotiate trade-offs between non-quality attributes, and then obtain technology buy-in Promote the architecture at all relevant levels throughout the Group to socialise or obtain required approvals Establish appropriate organisational bodies and relationships to achieve relevant shared learning and collaboration Drive business process standardisation and alignment through the various BUs to the business architecture model Education and Experience Engineering Degree or relevant NQF 7 level qualification 6 - 8 years' experience in a senior Business Architect role Job Details Application Closing Date 14/05/24 All appointments will be made in line with FirstRand Group’s Employment Equity plan.
