KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIESPerformance of projects is reviewed in terms of actual hours and quantities versus estimated hours and quantities with recommended changes to norms as requiredScope and design development charge orders are correctly identifiedChange orders are tracked with correct submission and approval dates recorded Internal:Establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate across the businessActively promote the company procedures and initiatives in line with company valuesEngage with and promote functional & cross contract development including Networking/knowledge sharingMaintain communication with respective focal pointsManage interfaces across functional and business boundaries External:Communicate and co-operate with external clients, stakeholders including Industry bodies, academia, market intelligence, relevant conferences, vendors, business acquisition and business developmentActions and decisions typically have a significant influence on the operational or financial results of the project and a moderate influence on those of the departmentErrors may be serious with impact on project costs and scheduleWorks under general supervision: broad instructions generally covering what is to be done, limitations, quality and quantity expected, deadlines and priorities are givenAdditional instructions are given for few, difficult and unusual assignmentsWork is subject to periodic review to ensure conformity to administrative objectives and project requirements as well as technical accuracySolves problems requiring investigation and interpretationExercises independent judgement in selecting and interpreting information and in recommending modifications to standard methods and proceduresNo direct reports, but frequently services as a technical source to others, provides guidance to less experienced staff on work methods and proceduresPERSON SPECIFICATION Qualifications:Typically requires ISCED level 6 (Bachelors) Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent gained through relevant vocational training and/or industry experience) Knowledge, skills, and experience:Typically requires a minimum of six (6) years of progressive industry experience, with at least four (4) years in estimating positionsGood knowledge of estimating techniques and systems with a detailed knowledge of how these are appliedDetailed understanding of project management principles and techniquesGood understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & ManagementPersonal AttributesDemonstrates commitment to the company Values, Visions & BehavioursStrong analytical skills and ability to use estimating methodsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamEffective organization & planning skillsAbility to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills both written and oralUses initiative, experience and a proactive approach to problem solvingCommitment to continuous improvementAbility to guide & mentor others
