Approve expenditure (local and foreign expenditure).Stand in for Deputy Director: Expenditure when required.KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Process all transactions of NELSON MANDELA UNIVERSITY subsidiaries: Prepare monthly trial balance.Prepare monthly Management Accounts.Prepare Annual Financial Statements.Attend to audit queries.Meetings/liaison:- Monthly meetings with management of subsidiary companies.- Attend Board meetings of subsidiary companies as/when required.- Attend to all accounting matters for the subsidiaries.- Liaise with 3rd parties such as banks, actuaries, valuers. Approve daily Ad-Hoc payments in the university ERP system. Approve Forex Transactions using banking software. Stand-in for Deputy Director when required. CORE COMPETENCIESSound understanding of the accounting for subsidiaries and financial reportingExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Proven ability to adhere to deadlines.Ability to work without constant supervision in a decentralized work environment.Advanced Excel skillsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSB Com Degree (Accounting up to third year level)Five years' experience in a finance environment.Nelson Mandela University reserves the right not to make an appointment.
