This role looks after the MasterStart Group, and reports into the CFO. The responsibilities include assurance that all transactions, reconciliations, and reporting are accounted for accurately, completely and reported on timeously. The role requires the candidate to be highly numerate, well organised, deadline driven. Responsibilities: Review of Monthly Management Reports including signing off on all review files, and reconciliation for both income statement and balance sheet schedules. Inter-company billing calculations to ensure appropriate billing across entities and in line with contracts (includes review of prepayments and accruals to ensure all costs are billed). Review of all Monthly Finance Reports for universities. Ensure that all accounting is in line with the Group’s accounting policies and procedures. Ensure standardisation of reporting and schedules across all entities is maintained. Prepare monthly management reports for the Board pack for CFO. Audit: First review of all audit files. Ensure all audit files are in the manner required for annual audits. Ensure audit files and all supporting schedules are in the standardised format to ensure ease of consolidation for group accounts. Payments: Review of payments both external and group. Ensure that all payments are run through the PO system and drive the implementation of this system. Review month-end journals. Prepare and capture journals if needed. ***: Review fixed asset register and intangible asset register maintenance. Ensure any course development has been capitalised in the accounting records and appropriate amortisation and been applied. WIP requires monthly reconciliation and review. First review of monthly payroll of 2 group companies. Tax: First review of Monthly VAT submission, and EMP payroll submissions First review of Income Tax Returns both ITR14 and Provisional Tax Returns, statutory annual returns. Create the monthly corporate tax schedule for the relevant entities that will become the quarterly and annual disclosure support. Debtors control reporting assistance to the sales department Project accounting processing including individual project Income Statement reports and reconciliations. Margin analysis and variance analysis. Cash flow forecasting. Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and updating monthly forecasts. Ensure prompt and accurate month-end and year-end close processes. Overseeing accounting operations such as accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger entries. Consolidation of group management reports. Assisting CFO with the management of the finance team. Requirements: B Com (Accounting) with completed Articles with CTA/Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting or Honours Degree in Accounting. AGA (SA), CA (SA), CIMA, ACCA or equivalent would be advantageous. Skills & Experience: Minimum 2 years Financial Manager experience in similar size companies. At least 1 year experience working with Xero accounting software. Knowledge of IFRS. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Demonstrable success in working in fast growth, entrepreneurial businesses. Excellent written / oral communications skills. Highly flexible – the ability to live and act in a climate of change.
