We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Quality Laboratory Assistant/Technician to join our quality team based in Pinetown, South Africa. About the Role The successful incumbent will be responsible for the approval of incoming packaging and raw materials while ensuring that these meet the company’s quality requirements. They will also co-ordinate the calibration of equipment on site and see to it that calibration records are well maintained. If this is you, we'd love to talk.  What You Will DoUndertake methods, development and evaluation project work.Conduct internal and supplier audits as and when required.Ensure quality near misses are closed within allocated timeframe and prepare monthly presentation thereof.Has the responsibility and authority to:-Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to the material, product, process and quality system.-Identify and record any problems relating to the material, product, process and quality system.-Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.Quarantine, reject or approve packaging and raw materials and issue appropriate laboratory report.Conduct non-routine analyses as and when required.Sample the required packaging and raw materials as per the required sampling plan and test status.Who You Are Must have Matric with tertiary qualification. A scientific qualification will be an added advantage. Sound knowledge and formal training in ISO systems (9001, 13485 & 14001) with auditing thereof. Sound knowledge and formal training in applicable FDA regulations and auditing thereof. Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in an administration, production or scientific environment. Must have proficient skill on MS Office package. Must be able to work without supervision and be deadline driven. Must have report writing ability with good administrative skills. Must have high level of analytical reasoning, problem solving and decision-making ability. Must be a strong collaborator with good communication skills (verbal, written and listening).
