Job Title: Principal Engineer (Temp) x3Band Level: 10/11Division: PEPD (SFED) – New ModelsLocation: DurbanA vacancy exists in the SFED section which forms parts of the PEPD Division. This position reports to the Manager of SFED (New Models).KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:PROJECTSFET PlanningAccurate (≈ 10% of actual) cost estimates for input into Product brief repliesNew / Facility projects (Productivity, Kaizen etc.)Detailed schedules to meet project milestones.FET ProcurementDetailed equipment specificationClose tender bid package with clear and concise scope of work for both local & TMC procured facilities.FET Installation preparationBuy off at Vendor (VTO) or TMC.Plant layout rearrangement based on project scope.Stakeholder engagement to ensure seamless introduction.FET Installation /CommissioningCollaboration with plant / Vendors & TMC to ensure safety compliance.Achievement of projectOn timeGood qualityWithin budgetHandover Data from production trialsHandover from Local & TMC divisions to PEPD then finally to PlantNetworking, communication, and relationshipsCustomers internal and externalProject stakeholdersTMC and affiliatesQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:NQF 6 / S4 Engineering Qualification (minimum 360 credits) in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electrical Engineering. Paint Process experience essential + minimum 1 Year PEPD experience. Knowledge and experience in automotive Paint process (ED, UBC, TC, Sealer, Wax) Knowledge in paint production systems (PBIS, MDP). Knowledge and experience in budget/investment making and budget control. Knowledge and experience in specification making for paint equipment. Knowledge and experience paint and paint bumper jigs (Design, Manufacture Installation and Commissioning). Knowledge and experience in CF design and making for paint jig accuracy. Knowledge and experience of paint equipment (Design, Manufacture Installation and Commissioning). Knowledge and experience in Kanban and 20 shift handovers. Knowledge of equipment safety standards is essential. Knowledge of environment standards applicable to painting process advantageous. Must be computer literate (Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams, Auto Cad, Draft sight) Must be able to navigate through Catia (Fundamental knowledge) Detail Reporting on data and trends. Good presentation skills.
