About the job Audit And Assurance ManagerThe Audit and Assurance Department of one of the fastest-growing accounting firms in the country is seeking aManager who possesses a strong technical skillset, is motivated by quality work and embraces a collaborative environment. This individual will have a direct impact on our firms mission of serving as a catalyst for those striving to achieve their highest potential.In this role, you will primarily be responsible for planning and conducting audits of client financial statements, managing the development of appropriate audit programs, managing performance of risk assessments, and preparing and reviewing reports of audit findings and recommendations for clients. This role requires a consultative approach and strong relationship building skills in all aspects including client relations, cross-selling the firms other services, coaching team members and business development. You will also be responsible for developing staff through talent management, so people management experience is a plus!What Youll Do:Assume full responsibility for planning, supervising and controlling all phases of the firms regular services for those clients delegated by PartnersProject and plan the timing of the workload to promote the most efficient operation of the staffLead the decision-making process for assigned engagements and clients; keep the engagement Partner fully informed of significant decisions, engagement process, the clients situation and potential concernsDevelop a responsible and trained team through assistance in recruiting, planning assignments, resolving problems, providing direct consultation to staff, evaluating staff performance, and acting as a discussion leader in professional development programsSupervise preparation of the engagement letter for approval by the engagement Partner, discuss the terms of the assignment with the client and ensure client signs and returns the engagement letter before the start of the engagementEvaluate internal controls and audit programs prepared by staff, revise as necessary, and present to the engagement Partner for approvalFollow engagement process through monitoring time budgets and deadlines, communicate essential developments to the engagement Partner along with facts, conclusions, and recommendations, and providing ongoing attention to client managementSupport employee development with ongoing coaching and training, recognize and handle challenging staff situations and client personnel matters, and obtain a strong interest in attracting and developing staffPerform other duties as assignedWhat Were Looking For:Excellent written and oral communication skillsStrong client service skills with the ability to interact with all levels of managementClient service-oriented with ability to interact with all levels of managementDetail-oriented; strong planning and organization skills; ability to make decisionsResourceful in recognizing technical problems and developing solutionsAwareness of current developments affecting area of expertiseAdvanced technical knowledge of audit, accounting, and other relevant conceptsExperience with financial statement preparation, audits, reviews, and compilationsAbility to travel to client sites that may also require overnight travelKnowledge of FASB standards, GAAP, and GAASUnderstanding of audit and attest servicesSoftware proficiencies include: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft OutlookYour Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in Accounting requiredCPA required6+ years of audit experience preferredPersonnel management experience requiredPublic accounting experienceExperience utilizing CaseWare and data analytic software (IDEA, Excel TeamMate, etc.)#J-18808-Ljbffr
