You are possibility.Job SummaryJob DescriptionPreparation and Submission of Regulatory Reports to the Central Bank and group: Time split 15%Ensure all Regulatory Returns are prepared and submitted to the Seychelles Central Bank and Group (SARB) as per SLA.Ensure data included in the Regulatory Returns is complete, valid, accurate and presented as per guidelines issued by the Regulator (local and group).Ensure compliance with the Group Financial Regulatory Reporting policy.Regular interactions with Seychelles Central Bank officers to address any concerns they may have.Maintain and improve controls around the Regulatory Reporting process to mitigate issues during snap-checks and RCAs.Perform variance analysis and provide comments for material movements.Ensure that withholding Tax payment to Seychelles Revenue Commission is done for specified business as per Business Tax Act.Assist the rest of the Finance Team in various ad-hoc requirements.Fixed Assets Register: Time split 10 %Additions/disposals, refurbishments and works in progress are properly controlled and capitalized, including liaising with Procurement and CRES to resolve operational issues.Depreciation, Capitalisation of Fixed assetsCAPEX sub-process during budget, including computation, aggregation and review of functional *** requests, and calculation of depreciation.Annual verification of fixed assets is effectively undertaken evidenced filed for audit purposes.Taxation: Time split 15 %Prepare Income Tax and Deferred Tax computations for Local Reporting and Group ReportingEnsure that the monthly tax computations are prepared according to the Local Regulations with the correct rates being applied and tax incentives.Ensure that the monthly tax pack is submitted to Centre as per set deadline.Ensure that business tax return and BAS forms are completed and filed with the Seychelles Revenue Authority as per regulations timeline.Engage with Centre Tax team to ensure that interpretation of new Tax laws are correctly interpretedGeneral ledger Control: Time split 10 %Responsible for general ledger control framework and ensure Finance compliance to General Ledger controls policy, including review monthly extracts of internal accounts from Brains core banking system.Perform monthly reconciliation as per the AO&R policy and engage with the Reconciliations Dept and other Departments for outstanding items in suspense accounts and follow up until clearance.Perform first-hand analytical review of expenses reported every month to ensure that the income statement and balance sheet give a true and fair and reliable and provide appropriate commentary.Ensure Inter-Company Eliminations process in placeEnsure that all journals are processed on a monthly basis and in compliance with IFRS and Group policiesMonitor suspense and sundry accounts, Investigate and communicate high risk items to all stakeholders.Ensure proper updating maintenance of data on SAP Finance systems.Ensure AO&R policy training is carried annually.Drive objectives of the Balance Sheet Review Committee with Reconciliations department.Ensure compliance to the Group finance governance policies in place.Group Reporting: Time split 15 %Ensure compliance with Group reporting process for monthly, quarterly and year end reporting for Absa Bank Seychelles.Manage the submission of monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Returns in accordance with Group policies and procedures within Group reporting deadlines.Ensure that the financial statements are IFRS compliant and are submitted on a timely basis to the external auditors and local regulators for Seychelles for MOE reporting.Monitoring of Intercompany balances to ensure that all material mismatches are attested, and root causes are identified for remediation.Monitoring of Top-Side adjustments to ensure that these types of adjustments are reduced to a minimum.Ensure that all Group and BA-Finance requirements are attended and reported on a timely basis.Manage the SAP Journal Uploads process to ensure that there are adequate reviews before processing in the system.Produce monthly MI reports on Intercompany balances to monitor the ageing of the mismatches.Ensure SAP GL Accounts are in compliance with Group Accounting policy.Ensure reconciliations are in place from Management Accounts to Statutory Accounts to ensure figures are correctly reported both to Local Regulators and Group.Statutory Financial Reporting: Time split 15 %Assist the Financial Controller in the preparation of the statutory financial statements compliant with IAS on a timely basis for submission to External Auditors and Seychelles Central Bank.Coordinate with key stakeholders across the bank to ensure accurate data is provided to the external auditors and as per timeframe set in the audit plan.Assist the Financial Controller in the preparation of the annual financial statements and schedules to auditors as per agreed audit plan.Assist auditors on a timely basis to ensure that their queries are addressed.Ensure reconciliations are in place from Management Accounts to Statutory Accounts to ensure figures are correctly reported both to Local Regulators and Group.FD Attestation: Time split 5 %Chasing and aggregating monthly submissions to group.Identify, analyse, review, and report on items at risk to Financial Controller and Finance Director.Meet Reconciliations, ORCR including other business functions to review and agree on items at risk.Follow-up on unresolved exceptional items by reviewing them with Governance and Control team to ensure they are cleared in a timely manner.Staff Management: Time split 5 %Ensure that delegated tasks are properly supervised and training is taken up.Manage the proper coverage to ensure delivery within the Financial Control team.Support the finance team in various ad-hoc finance-related work.Leadership: Time split 5 %To contribute positively to all strategic initiatives of Absa Bank Seychelles,To contribute in developing the strategy for the function, identifying key dependencies and identifying opportunities for growthTo review/ assess/ analyze/ provide input into business cases for approval of investment needs for strategic initiativesTo provide insight into market, competitors and people dynamicsTo contribute and oversee all budgeting and forecasting activity in the business – and liaising with Group/region/cluster as requiredReview monthly performance against budget on all cost centres and ensure that any excesses are challenged/agreedReview & track system for monitoring quality and speed of delivery and take steps to address deficienciesDevelop and maintain key relationships with Group/ Cluster/region/ Country Management and the country Finance teams necessary for job performanceRisk and Control: Time split 5 %Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory
