Description Our client, a longstanding manufacturer of products for the food industry is currently looking to employ a Production Supervisor (FMCG) to their team based in Port Elizabeth. A wonderful career opportunity awaits you. Requirements: Grade 12 or NQF level 4 qualification. Production Supervisor or food related qualification. Confectionary Manufacturing experience â (Advantageous). 5 years working experience in a food environment. Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure. Good written and communication skills (Multiligual). Numerical and analytical skills. Computer literacy in MS Word/Excel. High levels of initiative, plans and carries out responsibilities with minimal supervision. Organisational skills and ability to plan. Willing to go above and beyond. Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to: People and Safety: Excellent leadership and management qualities. Ability to interact in an effective manner with all levels of the organisation. Previous experience of people-management and demonstrated ability in people motivation, organising and team building. Self-motivated, managing a team with a demonstrated ability to work cross functionally and to lead / motivate others. Supervising employees in the manufacturing of food products, ensuring safety, good quality products and productivity. Manage human capital and absenteeism. Disciplinary experience. Process IOD’s and report any safety incidents. Serve as Safety Rep (training will be provided). Assist in ensuring staff works safely and in a safe environment. Training and Development of production employees. Operations: Safe and efficient production. Meet plant KPI’s and targets. Downtime reduction through tracking downtime and planning maintenance. Monitor production quality and take corrective action. Minimise waste. Right first-time approach on all tasks. Work overtime/ night shift as and when requested. Stock Management: Raw material planning and control. Monthly stock takes. Ensure deliveries are made according to plan. Management of raw material consumption rates ensuring records accuracy and daily mass balance for traceability of product. Quality: Good knowledge of GMP’s/HACCP/FSSC 22000 regulatory requirements, housekeeping and health and safety (Advantageous). Experience and knowledge of internal / external auditing practices is (Advantageous). Adherence to Health and Safety, Quality, Food management System, HACCP and Good Hygiene and Housekeeping practices. Organise internal core training with quality department.
