The brilliance of our people makes a positive difference. Business area and team Xceptor can either be run by our clients on premise or they can take it as a service. The Cloud Operations team exists to provide that service. We're responsible for the day to day running of the service and the continual improvement of it. The Role  The Cloud Operations Engineer’s responsibilities will span availability, performance, monitoring, incident response, and deployment. The role works closely with the product engineering group, contributing operational insights as the service evolves. Key Accountabilities & responsibilities Ensure Service Availability: Monitor and maintain the availability of Xceptor as a Service. Incident Response: Swiftly respond to alerts (automated or via our support desk) and troubleshoot issues. Change Implementation: Implement changes based on support requests. Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in the cloud environment to ensure optimal service delivery. Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention in repetitive tasks. Security Management: Implement and manage security measures to protect cloud infrastructure and data, including regular security assessments and compliance checks. Capacity Planning: Monitor resource usage and plan for future capacity needs to ensure scalability and reliability. Disaster Recovery: Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability during unexpected events. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of cloud architecture, processes, and procedures for internal use and compliance purposes. Collaboration: Work closely with development, QA, and other IT teams to support the entire service lifecycle, from design through deployment to operation. Key Competencies Technical Azure PaaS Services: Familiarity with services such as AKS, App Service, and SQL Server (or similar in AWS or GCP). Kubernetes: Experience or a strong desire to work with Kubernetes. Monitoring Stack: Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, and Tempo. Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency in Terraform, Bicep, or Crossplane. Automation: Azure DevOps Pipelines (or similar). GitOps Principles: Using tools like ArgoCD, Flux or similar. Programming Skills: Understanding of C# .NET or similar object orientated language. Non-Technical Strong analytical skills. Excellent problem-solving ability. Good client centric approach. Strong adaptability. Required Education and Experience Degree level education in numeracy-based subject. Minimum of 5 year’s experience in similar role. Additional Eligibility Requirements Able to work on call rotation for out of hours work.
