Senior Administrative Officer: Security Services Reference Number: GDIR/005/2024 SANBI offers basic annual salary of R 376 413.00 The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is looking for a self-motivated individual to manage security services to protect the organization's premises and properties, as well as providing effective and efficient investigation, administration, and coordination of security functions. This position requires an advanced diploma or a degree in Security Management or an equivalent qualification with NQF 7. A postgraduate qualification in Security Management with NQF 8 will be an added advantage. This position also requires a minimum of 4 years of work experience in relevant field. The following competencies are required for the candidate to be successful in this position: must have PSIRA Grade A qualification; ability to work with diverse team and under pressure whilst being quality, cost, and safety conscious; extensive experience in the implementation of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, processes, and regulatory framework relevant to Security Management; Safety and Service focus are essential; advance knowledge for planning and organising, and statistical reports writing skills; in-depth organisational, analytical, and problem solving skills; excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; excellent computer literacy and experience in the application of software tools including (Ms Word, MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet and Outlook). The possession of a valid driver’s licence with at least one-year practical driving experience and a willingness to travel is essential. Key Performance Responsibilities include: Provide management support for the implementation of protective and physical security services; Ensure that baseline and continuous physical security assessments are carried out effectively at all buildings and premises; Assist in conducting investigations and implementing the investigation policies and framework; Assist in conducting security audit compliance with SOPs; and Manage receptionists stationed at Pretoria National Botanical Garden’s Biodiversity Building Centre and National Herbarium Building Centre Please Note: Only online applications will be accepted and applications must be accompanied by a letter motivating why the applicant should be favourably considered for this position, and certified qualifications confirming that the minimum qualifications are met (applicants lacking evidence of meeting minimum qualifications and relevant experience will not be considered).
