The Assistant to the Operations Manager will support various on-site tasks, with responsibilities ranging from general handyman work to welding and machinery operation. This role requires someone who is physically fit, reliable, and safety-conscious, with the ability to work flexible hours, including late shifts and overtime. Key Responsibilities: General Handyman Tasks: Perform routine maintenance, repair work, and odd jobs to ensure the site operates smoothly. Carry out general site upkeep, including equipment checks, minor repairs, and cleaning tasks. Assist in the assembly and setup of operational equipment, structures, and machinery. Work at Heights: Perform tasks that require working at heights, such as building maintenance, scaffolding, or equipment repair. Strictly follow all safety protocols, including the use of fall protection and personal protective equipment (PPE). Ensure work at heights is conducted in a safe and responsible manner, minimizing risks. Welding and Equipment Operation: Carry out welding tasks as directed, maintaining a high level of safety and precision. Operate earth-moving equipment, ensuring safety measures are followed during use. Conduct routine checks on equipment to ensure proper operation and report any malfunctions. Ad Hoc Projects: Provide assistance on various projects initiated by the Operations Manager, adapting to the needs of each project. Help with project setup, execution, and problem-solving as required. Take initiative in solving small operational issues and providing hands-on support. Overtime and Late Hours: Be available for extended work hours, including overtime and late shifts when needed to meet operational deadlines. Maintain flexibility in scheduling, understanding the demands of the site may require irregular working hours. Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including the use of PPE and adherence to safety guidelines, especially when working at heights or with heavy machinery. Ensure all tasks are performed in compliance with company safety standards. Report any safety concerns immediately to the Operations Manager and participate in safety drills and training. Family and Support Structure: Maintain a solid family and support structure, understanding that the demands of the role require flexibility and potential for long hours. Ensure personal well-being to maintain a high level of productivity and focus on the job. Qualifications: Experience with general handyman tasks, welding, and operating machinery.
