A renowned Aviation Engineering company is looking for a “Quality Assurance Specialist” to join their team on a full-time permanent basis in the Helderberg Area, Cape Town. Tech or equivalent A minimum of 3 years quality assurance experience in the manufacturing industry Broad manufacturing knowledge with regards to requirements covering design, production, and certification within a commercial aviation environment Certified in Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Experience in operating in a multi-project environment with different customers The following will be beneficial to have: Expertise in AS9100 Expertise in POA Part 21G SAP Quality Module Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods, work in a dusty and noisy environment with exposure to raw materials and/or finished products Key responsibilities: Conduct quality assurance according to requirements and document results within an ISO9001/AS9100 Quality management system framework. Inspect parts and products according to: 2D drawings 3D CAD models BOMs Review and approve Supplier FAI&ATR. Create and review First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR). Understand customer requirements and assist Quality Engineers in setting up robust quality assurance plans, inspection requirements, and specifications. Ensure non-conforming parts are identified and contained, and the appropriate process is followed: Create Material Review Reports (MRRs). Host Material Review Boards with Quality Engineers, Product Engineers, Industrial Engineers, and Line Leaders. Incoming/Moulding/Final Inspection: Ensure parts and products conform to customer requirements/specifications before releasing into the factory / to customer. Define defects (size and non-conformance against customer specification) clearly when parts are returned to the supplier (internal/external). Ensure processing of parts is done adequately, for example, closing of Quality Lots. Ensure MRRs are closed before processing parts. Maintain and control parts and products within the non-conforming part loop. Ensure all paperwork is completed and accurate. Generate and sign Certificate of Conformity (CoC) at final part approval.
