Role purpose Checkers Sixty60 is looking for a high-energy, self-motivated, innovative, and experienced Brand Manager to join the marketing team. The Brand Manager will play a vital role in shaping Sixty60’s brand identity, driving product awareness, and ensuring all marketing efforts resonate with Sixty60’s customers and target audience. Role Description Brand Strategy Lead the go-to-market plans that bring the Sixty60 brand strategy to life, with a focus on customer-centricity and innovation. Oversee the implementation of brand campaigns to ensure alignment with business and brand objectives and goals. Establish and maintain brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all media, materials, and channels. Conduct ongoing market research and analysis to adapt and refine the brand strategy as needed, leveraging insights from industry trends, competitor landscape, and emerging opportunities. Monitor and evaluate brand performance metrics to track the effectiveness of brand initiatives and identify areas for optimisation. Product Marketing Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Merchandising, Operations, Data,&Customer for the development of customer-centric eCRM strategies and communication assets. Design and optimise communication assets for various stages of the customer journey to drive engagement and conversion. Campaign Strategy Develop digitally-led campaign strategies and channel plans aligned with the broader brand strategy. Manage the creative and production processes with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-quality campaigns on time and within budget. Work closely with media partners to develop and execute media strategies that maximise reach and impact. Reporting&Insights Monitor and report on the performance of all marketing campaigns and initiatives, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement. Utilise data-driven insights to optimise marketing campaigns and initiatives, with a focus on driving customer acquisition and retention. Measure digital channel performance and ROI to evaluate marketing effectiveness and inform strategic decision-making. Leadership Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and manage business expectations and needs effectively. Foster long-term partnerships with external creative partners, aligning on a shared vision and mission. Present marketing strategies and results to executives with clarity and confidence. Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of learning, growth, and collaboration. Qualifications and Experience Degree or diploma in Brand Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (essential). 8+ years of proven experience in a marketing or brand management role, with a strong track record of driving results (essential). 8+ years’ experience managing traditional and digital media campaigns (essential). Strong retail or e-commerce knowledge and experience (essential). Strong commercial acumen and understanding of the media landscape within the broader retail industry– (essential). Project management experience overseeing strategic business initiatives (essential). Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. In-depth knowledge of South Africa’s retail industry and consumer behavior trends (essential). Proficiency in digital marketing including social media platforms. Experience in budget planning and resource allocation. Proficiency in data analytics and reporting, with the ability to derive actionable insights.
