the budget for the next financial year for area of responsibility taking all operational plans into considerationResearch and design a longer term financial resource requirement plan for the area of responsiblityPresent the business case to motivate for financial resourcesAnalyse and develop implementation plans against the forecasted financial budgetDevelop tactical budget for area of responsibility that minimise expenditure and manage costsControl the budget for area including the authorisation of expenditures and implementation of financial regulationsApply a customer-centric approach that focuses on creating a positive experience for the customer by maximizing service and/or product offerings and building relationships to ensure that the customer is at the centre of the business philosophy, operations and ideasEnsure integrated view and reporting of relevant business informationAnalyse information to identify trends, discrepancies and inconsistencies for decision making purposesEnsure reporting of identified inconsistencies or opportuniesUse the insights gained through integrated business reports to measure success and realign tactical strategy implementation objectives appropriatelyProvide input into, and implement, corporate governance, compliance, integrity and ethics policies in are of accountability to identify and manage risk exposureStays abreast of relevant industry risk management best practices and legislative amendments and suggests ways to leverage these to ensure continuous improvementCreates risk awareness and manages audit findingsParticipate in Group risk forums where required and cascades relevant information through teamMinimise compliance risks by providing advice and guidelines to operational management through the application of risk management principles, policies, processes, and procedures.Develop compliance risk management solutions within strategic guidelines and policiesFacilitate the management of compliance risks and breaches within the Business Units and Segment through the application of accepted risk management principlesWork closely with internal audit team on the audit findings and observationsWork closely with Head of Stakeholder Engagement and Compliance Centre of Expertise on regulatory issues and updatesOversee the deployment and effectiveness of integrated risk management, governance, and compliance frameworks throughout area of responsibilityAdvise and support on the development of compliance guidelines, processes, and procedures for the various business units through collaboration with business unit leadershipAnalyse, address and resolve compliance issuesProvide oversight and support on compliance related matters affecting compliance team within the Africa operations teamEnsure processes and other controls exist in business to enforce compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and proceduresOversee and manage internal data privacy compliance reviews, where required under local laws and regulationsBe the line of escalation from the business unit in self assessments/ audits, including data privacy and compliance-related assessments and other reviewsReview the effectiveness of the implementation of compliance awareness and training programmes across the organisationEstablish strategic goals, plans and objectives for the organisation and make strategic decisions based on company goals and objectivesMaintain expert knowledge on relevant legislative amendments, industry best practices and provide advice to relevant stakeholdersMaintain up to date knowledge of local and global trendsProvide thought leadership and expertiseLead a development culture where information regarding successes, issues, trends and ideas are actively sharedBuild and sustain collaborative working relationships with relevant peers and stakeholders to achieve productivity synergiesLead specialist communities of practice and contribute positively to own and organisational knowledge improvementManage performance of team or teams in areas of responsibility against expected individual and team delivery targetsManage performance moderation, disciplinary action, recognition and retention processes in line with HR policies and proceduresBuild team succession plans for roles in own area and influence resource planningEnsure clear contracting and assessment of performance expectations in line with identified objectives and enable a learning and growth cultureImplement people resource planning in line with delivery and performance objectives within budget and in partnership with specialised areasImplement talent management practices in line with HR policies and proceduresProvide direction, coaching, and regular
