Location: Johannesburg North (JHB North) Company Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Architect to join our dynamic team. Role Overview: We are looking for a Senior Project Architect to lead the detailed design, technical documentation, and construction monitoring of a significant mixed-use project. This role will require extensive experience in project management, design oversight, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities: Manage a design team and coordinate their efforts in conjunction with your own contributions during design development and technical documentation preparation. Interface with a full consultant team and manage consultants to ensure code compliance and document production. Oversee client relationships, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, project expectations, service quality, and consistent communication. Engage with clients and stakeholders to discuss design plans and project objectives. Oversee the construction administration of one or more projects, acting as a liaison between the client and the construction team. Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance with regulations and project standards. Create and manage progress and quality inspection reports. Identify and mitigate project risks, managing these effectively throughout the project lifecycle. Perform final inspections upon project completion. Occasional travel may be required to represent the company on-site and to work independently when necessary. Qualifications and Experience: Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Design. Experience: Minimum of 10 years in the field, with at least 5 years in a project leadership role. Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams. Experience in coordinating technical services and multidisciplinary teams is essential. Familiarity with both JBCC and FIDIC contracts, with a strong understanding of the JBCC forms of contract. Software Knowledge: Proficiency in Autodesk Revit is required, with working knowledge of other design and coordination tools such as AutoCAD and Navisworks considered an advantage. Collaboration Platforms: Experience with BIM360 and ACC is a must. Technical Knowledge: Strong technical understanding and the ability to manage both design and construction phases. Project Management: Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities. Leadership: Ability to lead a team, delegate tasks effectively, and manage junior staff members. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in both design and documentation. Risk Management: Sensitivity to and experience in managing project risks are critical to success in this role. Communication: Excellent communication skills to interface effectively with clients, consultants, and stakeholders both locally and internationally.
