Position, Scope, and Purpose: Provide Hands-On Leadership and Training to operators for shift activities in support of Safe-Work, Production KPI’s, and Quality standards. Openly supports management and company policy. Assign and audit operator jobs in support of the production schedules. Actively seeks and recommend improvements to production methods, equipment, operating procedures. Requirements: Ambassador of Safe-Work Practices.75% of time on the production floor with operator staff.Active listener, critical thinker, decisive. Excellent communicator. Passion to Lead, Teach and Coach operators for success, while building a cohesive team.Fair and equitable disciplinarian, fully supportive of management, company policies, programs and or procedures.Critical thinker, experienced problem resolver embraces CAPA (Corrective and Preventative) methodology.Navigation experience with MS Office –(Word and Excel) Key Accountabilities/Special Functions: Self-starter, requiring minimum direction and supervision.Communicates well with all levels of the organization.Provides clear expectations to operators.Meets/beats production standards, posting daily production, labor, and the challenges that occurred on shift. (S/L and Standard Work Reports)Professionally identifies and resolves daily challenges with the use of all resources.Supports and works to sustain 6S (Set-In-Order and Shine) standards for all work areas.Audits, documents, and provides periodic performance feedback to operators concerning safe work, compliance to standard work instructions, meeting labor standards, and adherence to company policy.Maintains personal skills necessary to properly operate all work stations on the production floor to include computer interface and navigation.Maintains lot traceability, ensures robust line clearances and weight reconciliation.Writes/revises standard work instructions as needed.Regular Attendance.Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: 2-3 years leadership experience in a busy operations setting.10 years of manufacturing experienceHigh integrity, excellent communicator, people-savvy.Brave to have difficult conversations when warranted.Comfortable with the use of computers, labelers, bar code scanners.Able to read, write and communicate in English.High School Diploma or equivalent required. Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions: Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Fingering, Grasping, Feeling, Talking, and Hearing.Ability to work on ones’ feet for extended periods of time, sitting and looking at computer while completing repetitive motions to include substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.Visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing, checking and analyzing data figures, accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work performed, viewing a computer terminal.The worker is subject to environmental conditions: Weather conditions between buildings and in the yard, typical to New England climate. Colder and hotter than normal inside the plant conditions, during winter and/or summer months. The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places. Equipment Used:This position utilizes fork trucks, conveyers, computers, printers, scanners, telephone, and calculator, fax/scanning machine and other general office equipment, as well as all specialized production equipment.Contacts:All Glencore employees.
