Working in close collaboration with the Head of Government Relations for Europe, your responsibilities will encompass engaging with a diverse array of institutional, industry, and societal stakeholders, thereby contributing significantly to Glencore's strategic positioning in the European landscape. From supporting the development of comprehensive materials to coordinating vital feedback mechanisms with business units, managing cross-country initiatives, and staying abreast of policy and regulatory changes impacting Glencore's operations, you will be instrumental in driving impactful outcomes for the organization. Key Responsibilities: Support Strategic Implementation: Collaborate closely with the Head of Government Affairs for Europe to effectively implement Glencore's Corporate and Government Affairs strategy, ensuring alignment with overarching organizational goals and objectives. Facilitate Industry Engagements: Coordinate Glencore's involvement in industry associations, fostering meaningful partnerships and facilitating the exchange of insights and feedback between various stakeholders and business units. Program Management: Take charge of executing diverse programs and cross-country initiatives aimed at advancing Glencore's strategic interests, ensuring seamless coordination and effective resource utilization across different regions and functions. Policy Monitoring and Analysis: Proactively identify and monitor policy and regulatory developments within the natural resources sector and economic policy landscape in Switzerland, providing timely insights and analysis on potential implications for Glencore's business operations and strategic direction. Content Development: Contribute to the development of a range of content, including briefing notes, issue monitoring reports, factsheets, and position papers, leveraging your analytical prowess and communication skills to articulate Glencore's perspectives and priorities effectively. Requirements: Strategic Communication Skills: Demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to distil complex policy insights into actionable business intelligence, thereby enabling informed decision-making across various levels of the organization. Proactive Leadership: Exhibit a proactive and self-starting approach to work, coupled with the ability to thrive both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment, while consistently demonstrating a high level of initiative and resourcefulness. Organizational Excellence: Possess strong organizational and planning skills, coupled with meticulous attention to detail and a solution-oriented mindset, enabling efficient project management and timely delivery of objectives amidst competing priorities and deadlines. Against a restated 2019 baseline, we are targeting to reduce our Scope 1, 2 and 3 industrial emissions by 15% by the end of 2026, 25% by the end of 2030, 50% by the end of 2035 and we have an ambition to achieve net zero industrial emissions by the end of 2050, subject to a supportive policy environment.
