Project Engineer: Smallworks Proposals, Smallworks Engineering and Project Management Panel Division - Epping Western CapeJob DescriptonMain Purpose:The main purpose of this position is to do Smallworks Proposals, Smallworks Engineering and Project Management as well as customer liaison and visits.Assist with proposal offers, engineering, project management, and general customer relationship building.The project Engineer ensures the smooth, profitable, and proficient operation of the Cape Town panel division.The candidate should be committed to optimizing processes, maximizing efficiency, and delivering outstanding results through strategic planning and continuous improvement.The aim is to maintain excellence in every aspect of operations, ensuring sustainable growth and success.Duties And ResponsibilitiesSmallworks ProposalsCompile detailed proposals and tenders that meet the client's specifications and requirementsEnsure that tenders and proposals meet the Company and customer's commercial terms and conditions and technical requirements.Generate bill of material and costings based on standard prices and prices from sub-suppliers.Liaise with sub-suppliers.Attend estimating meetings.Smallworks EngineeringOversee all project requirements relating to orders from design to delivery and invoicing.Design to customer requirements.Assist production with chassis layout where required.Liaise with sub-suppliers for technical assistance on special components that may be used on a project.Communicate with PPC and production to ensure project is on schedule.Ensure that all contractual and delivery commitments are kept.Arrange and/or do inspections and testing of panels with QC.Customer liaison and visitsMeet with customers to clarify enquiry specifications.Deal with customer queries on technical design issues.Communicate with customers on status of order, delivery dates, delivery delays and any other aspects related to the order.Qualifications And ExperienceMatric with English and Mathematics.A recognised and relevant post-matric technical qualification (N6, S4 or National Diploma).6 - 10 Years Experience in a similar position.Experience with estimating panels and knowledge of electrical drawings would be advantageous (Autocad).Computer literacy - good general computer knowledge and experience as well as Windows, Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel.Special RequirementsA valid driver's license will be an advantage.Ability to work well in a team and as an individual.A keen sense of urgency and a willingness to learn additional job-related skills.Must be able to read, write, speak and understand Afrikaans and English.Ability to provide excellent customer service.Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as the willingness to handle difficult situations.Working conditionsMainly office based, but may be required to travel from time to time for customer meetings or site visits.Is subject to work beyond normal working hours, evenings, weekends and holidays should the need arise.Attends and participates in continuing educational programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession.Desired Skills managementElectrical drawings project management#J-18808-Ljbffr
