Nitsch Engineering is seeking a Senior Transportation Project Manager to join our team in one of our three Massachusetts offices in Boston, Worcester, or Lawrence!ResponsibilitiesDevelop and oversee all aspects of transportation engineering projects for local and state government clients (MassDOT, City of Boston, and Municipal Agencies)Staff and supervise the project team (including subconsultants), coordinating their efforts, mediating any disagreements, mentoring staff, and making decisions which reflect the best interest of both the company and its clientsPerform technical quality control reviewsPrepare and oversee the preparation of milestone and final submissionsManage transportation studies, design of roadways, streets, intersections, and ancillary facilitiesOversee the preparation of construction documents, specifications, estimates, and engineering reportsDevelop new business and serve as the face of Nitsch for conferences and professional organizationsLead and advocate for the professional development of existing staffRequirementsBS in Civil EngineeringMassachusetts Professional Engineer License, or the ability to obtain one within one year if currently licensed in another state15+ years’ experience in Transportation/Highway engineeringAdvanced knowledge of engineering programs including, but not limited to, AutoCAD Civil 3DKnowledge of project management roles and responsibilities and a history of successful client managementAbility to see the big picture and create staffing plans to adequately staff both current and future projectsExperience in performing and overseeing analysis and design, preparing calculations, developing details, preparing specifications and estimates as well as directing the preparation of bid documents is requiredAdvanced understanding of project metrics, including scope, budget, multiplier, additional service needs, and programs used to track metricsExperience with construction administration services including interpreting design intent, evaluating construction for compliance with contract documents, and directing of engineering support personnelExperience in preparing proposals, business development, and the ability to make public presentationsAbout UsNitsch Engineering is an employee-owned, mid-sized engineering firm providing land development and sustainable site solutions in our communities.
