Roles and responsibilities as per original job specsMonitor the day-to-dayfinancialoperations within the company, such as AP, banking, invoicing, and other transactionsPerform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and process journalsManage month-end and year-end close process & support with annual auditsProducing accurate financial reports and information related to budget vs actuals, account payables, account receivables, departmental expenses etc.Developing strategies that work to minimise financial riskEnsuring the business meets all its statutory and compliance obligations, including statutory accounting and tax issuesSupervising staffContributing to the development of new or amended accounting systemsPerforming other accounting duties and supporting staff as required or assignedDevelop, improve and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controlsHave an overview of the activities and budgets for each department to ensure the procedures laid down in the organisation’s financial regulations are adhered toDeliver an excellent service to all the management and customers through financial management of the organisation when required toTo be fully conversant with new initiatives, new legislation and modern thinking in all matters relating to the financial management of the organisationRequirementsMinimum of 8 years of experience in a senior financial roleRelevant tertiary education (Honours Degree, CA (SA) or similar)Hands on experience with accounting softwareStrong attention to detail & excellent time-management skillsA sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s successStrong interpersonal, communication and presentation skillsCritical thinker and problem-solving skillsStrong analytical and modelling skillsAbility to operate independently & to work under pressureTeam-working, conflict management and influencing/negotiatingAbility to set targets, motivate and inspire staff to achieve targetsFull understanding of the technical issues and ability to keep up to date with new accounting rules and regulationsExperience within the Financial Services/Fintech space will be an advantage.#J-18808-Ljbffr
