The Machine Shop department has a vacancy for a dedicated CNC Programmer. The main objective of the Dedicated CNC Programmer/ is to fully optimize the functionality of our machinery and to ensure that every product meets the highest quality and efficiency standards. The successful candidate will be required to:Write programs with Edgecam (Milling and Laths) on 3,4 and 5 axis machinesProgram and setup Siemens CNCReview and re-test current programs in order to eliminate any errorsMonitor all programs to ensure they meet specifications and safety policiesAnalyze job orders, drawings specifications and design data to calculate dimensions, tool selections, machine speeds and feed ratesWrite standard operating procedures or instructions to outline processesCreating, optimizing, and troubleshooting machine programs, ensuring that each job runs seamlessly with minimal downtime and minimal wasteThorough inspections, early deficiency identification, and implementing continuous process improvement throughout the production cycleEnsure that every product delivered is of high quality and according to drawing tolerancesAssist the Manager with coaching the team in regards with technical support, planning of work and ordering of the necessary material and toolsMonitor quality, accuracy and efficiency of teams work in terms of finished parts, tools or sub-assemblies and report any issues or possible improvements required to ManagerCompleting urgent/critical jobs as operational requirements demandDirect, guide and mentor staff as requiredQuality control on drawings submittedAny other tasks or adhoc duties, as agreed with the Manager, suited to this level of leadershipQualifying Experience:Minimum 5 years’ Programming and QC experience in a similar environmentMinimum 10 years post trade test working experience in a manufacturing/engineering/ production environmentRelevant tertiary qualification (N3 or higher)Trade Test CertificateWorking knowledge of OHSAExcellent computer skills (MS Office)Good written, verbal and listening skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnelValid Driver’s license and own reliable transportBe fully competent and able to program with Edgecam (Milling and Laths)Be fully competent and able to program with G-CodesHave expertise on material characteristicsQualifying AttributesAttention to detail and an analytical approach to troubleshootingAbility to prioritise workload and perform effectively in a pressurized environmentExcellent team player – able to balance team and individual responsibilitiesStrong acumen of process developmentTime and priority managementExcellent communication skills on all levelsAbility to work in; as well as lead a teamLogical and detail orientatedExcellent standards of executionCritical thinking and conflict resolution potentialCommitment to a strong business ethic and integrityExcellent planning, organisational, and decision-making skillsExcellent oral and written communication skills on all levelsReporting to: Machine Shop ManagerJob type: Permanent positionBenefits includeProvident fundMedical aid - hospital planLife cover at 4x annual salaryFuneral cover15 x paid leave days per annumLong service leave after five years of employmentStandard hours07h30–17h00: Monday – Thursday07h30–16h00: FridayMay be required to work overtime as per operational requirementsSalaryWe offer a highly competitive package depending on the extent of the applicant’s qualifications and experience.#J-18808-Ljbffr
