If you are well-*** in PE or VC and seek a dynamic opportunity, join our evolving journey.Purpose of the positionAs the Private Equity and Venture Capital Operations Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the investment processes of the Unlisted Equity team. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual of high integrity who has a passion for startups, possessesincredible attention to detail, and excels at maintaining order in a rapidly changingenvironment. The primary function of this role is to assist the investment team in theadministrative, procedural, and operational aspects of key functions, includingadministration, monitoring, maintenance, support, and reporting.The role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic and fast-paced team in agrowing sector. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, well-organized, and able to work effectively in a team environment.Key responsibilities of the position1. Administrationo Monitoring and developing the internal database and fund analytic dashboards.o Creating new instruments.o Processing and maintaining instrument revaluations based on Investment Committee(IC) recommendations.o Co-ordinating fund unit trades and client cash flow timing. 2o Monitoring and liaise with the Client Services team regarding cash flows to and from funds.o Monitoring portfolio mandates to ensure funds are within regulatory limits.o Assisting with various bespoke projects, including strategic operations and processimprovement initiatives.o Processing invoices as per the fund recovery process by liaising with various legal and company secretarial parties.o Co-ordinating and improving the current schedule management process with variousinternal stakeholders (Client Services, Business Development, Marketing, etc.) andexternal stakeholders (new and existing portfolio companies).o Taking ownership of the current processes relating to share certificate reconciliations and proxy voting.o Maintaining the current directorship and Professional Indemnity (PI) Cover database, compiling relevant documents relating to directorships and PI cover, and liaising withvarious stakeholders involved.o Efficiently manage the Head of Private Equity/Venture Capital and the teamschedules, ensuring optimal time management and prioritization.o Oversee the minute-taking during IC meetings, capturing key decisions and insightsin a concise manner.2. Performanceo Conducting monthly performance checks with the Specialist InvestmentAdministration (SIA) and Performance and Attribution (P&A) teams.o Continuously engage with the SIA & P&A teams to ensure fund data is accurate and up-to-date.o Reviewing risk reports and monitor exposures for returns and compliance.o Reviewing and present/explain fund performance (sources of returns).o Analysing various sector exposure and market trends.o Preparing bi-annual equity valuation committee data.3. Clientso Engaging with key stakeholders to ensure high-quality client experiences,(Stakeholders include Client Services, Business Development, and Marketing).o Preparing client/marketing reports (e.g., "what went right/what went wrong") on amonthly and/or quarterly basis.o Compiling and providing fund commentary to the Client Services team for the monthend reporting process.o Attending and participating in Business Development and Marketing presentationsand events, and answer client queries on our equity investment assets and processes. 3o Maintaining frequent communication with key stakeholders, including counterpartymanagers, and external equity and credit research analysts, to stay informed aboutmarket developments and credit/equity markets to best serve our clients.4. Reportingo Compiling quarterly board and bi-annual client reports.o Engaging with external and internal stakeholders on ad-hoc queries.o Actively engage in client relationships – dialogue, queries, and meetings. Ensure report backs/meetings occur frequently.o Maintaining fund data that are key inputs to the reporting process & develop in-depth insights on fund activities.o Developing ESG implementation and fund-specific ESG insights.o Providing transaction updates and thought pieces on various fund activities andprivate equity sectors.5. Deal Support and Analysiso Attending and participating in IC, giving your input and opinion on other teammembers' deals and participating fully in all investment-related decision-makingo Providing analysis on various ad-hoc macro and market-related research activities to develop a pipeline for new deals.o Assisting with various operational tasks related to structuring, negotiation, and legal documentation of deals.o Implementing and executing new deals, including managing the CP process andworking with the SIA team to ensure appropriate data management, reporting, andloading of instruments.o Maintaining and administering current SPVs held by the fund by ensuring that various administrative and financial processes are completed.6. Analytical processo Conducting general equity research on existing and new counterparties and thesector, including assessments of:o Global and local research and analysis.o Industry-specific research and analysis.o Assisting with the due diligence process, including the preparation of due diligence materials and coordination with external vendors.o Maintaining financial models, update financial ratios, and monitor the financialposition of companies. 4o Ensuring that NDAs are in place with counterparties and that deals are captured inpipeline monitoring tools.o Managing the filing of deal documentation and ensure that files are maintainedthroughout the deal life cycle.o Managing the collection of information from counterparties for due diligence andmonitoring.o Managing the administration and monitoring the progress of the deal pipeline andensure that the team is engaging with the pipeline.o Undertaking background checks on key staff at potential target companies.o Managing Investment Committee agendas and meeting planners.o Ensuring compliance with investment committee quorum requirements andinvestment committee member availability.o Managing engagements with stakeholders.Knowledge and experience requiredSkills, know-how and experience:o 1-3 years of work-related experience.o Relevant experience in investment administration required.o Understanding of yield curves and bond pricing.o Knowledge of financial mathematics and statistics.o Knowledge of fund operations, reporting, and fund administration.o Willingness to take on a challenging amount of responsibility and workload.o Uncompromising with respect to the quality of work and completeness in all aspects.o Results-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlinessimultaneously and expeditiously.o Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative analysis, risk assessment, and financialmodeling.o Ability to work independently and also closely with other team members.o Academic Credentials – BCom (honours), B Bus Science, or similar.o CFA candidate preferred.o Experience with financial modeling and analysis.Key behaviours and competencies:o Analytical thinking.o Numeracy.o Judgement.o Initiative. 5o Assertiveness, articulation, and confidence.o Collaboration and teamwork.o Excellent planning & organization skills.o Self-motivated and self-driven.o Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.o Excellent communication skills (including written and presentation skills).o Integrity.Recruitment process and closing datesSelected candidates will need to attend a series of competency-based interviews/activities and a psychometric assessment.Email: futuregrowth_careers@futuregrowth.co.za mailto:futuregrowth_careers@futuregrowth.co.za#J-18808-Ljbffr
