Teaching Assistant, with Aftercare responsibilities from 15 July 2024 The School invites applications for the above mentioned position. ISCT is seeking to appoint a passionate individual whose strengths lie in good verbal and written communication as well as being energetic, enthusiastic, and innovative; a person who has a passion for children and their learning and development. Applicants should meet the below criteria: Experience working in an Upper Primary school environment, including aftercare. Facilitating small group learning under the guidance of the class teacher. Supporting the class teachers with classroom responsibilities. Providing assistance with academic tasks in the classroom. Demonstrated commitment to collaborative teamwork within a diverse environment. Openness to learning and receiving guidance from colleagues. Assisting with Aftercare duties until 17:00. Creating a safe and nurturing environment for children. Flexibility and adaptability in working as part of a dynamic team. Maintaining a cool temperament, positive attitude, and a firm yet compassionate demeanor. Supervising and caring for students during Aftercare. Supporting Aftercare students in extracurricular activities. Strong organisational, interpersonal, administrative and computer skills. Demonstrating initiative and decisive action. Alignment with the school’s values and mission. Provision of a South African Revenue Services (SARS) personal tax number. A copy of your permanent SACE certificate and number, in the case of Educator applications.
