My client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in overseeing the company's accounting functions. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with extensive experience in accounting, financial management, and compliance.The successful candidate will be responsible for a broad range of accounting duties, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting and operations.This role is based in Cape Town CBD City Bowl.Key Responsibilities:Creditors Management: Assist in the full function of creditors, including preparing and reconciling accounts.Debtors Management: Assist with the processing of invoices and recovery of monthly invoices, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing.Month-End Processes: Manage and execute month-end closing procedures, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.Fixed Assets: Take full control of fixed assets, including acquisition, disposal, and depreciation.Year-End Audit: Prepare the audit file and coordinate with auditors to facilitate the year-end audit process.Costing and Control: Oversee costing processes and implement control measures to ensure financial accuracy.Monthly Management Accounts: Prepare and present monthly management accounts to the senior management team.Depreciation Calculation: Accurately calculate depreciation on all relevant assets.Provisions and Accruals: Manage provisions and accruals to reflect accurate financial positions.Journal Processing: Process journals, including those related to payroll, ensuring proper documentation and accuracy.Payments Preparation: Prepare payment lists and requisitions, ensuring all payments are processed timely and correctly.Tax Compliance: Manage income tax and VAT submissions, including communication with SARS to resolve any tax issues.Ad Hoc Duties: Perform additional accounting duties as required to support the finance team.Qualifications and Skill required:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Completed SAIPA Articles (non-negotiable)Minimum of 3 years post articles experience in a similar accounting role.Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.High attention to detail and accuracy.If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply directly.
