REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING: BSc Occupational Therapy / Occupational Therapy (community year completed). Registered with HPCSA (independent practitioner) and Malpractice Insurance. Maintain CPD standing as required by HPCSA. Bobath / NDT training is beneficial. 2 years’ experience in a rehabilitation environment is preferred. Basic / Intermediate wheelchair training is beneficial. Special interest and broad experience in Orthopaedics, Neurology (CVA/TBI and SCI) and Vocational readying. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Knowledge of the ICF Framework with good written and spoken English language skills. Effective interdisciplinary team member. Awareness of evidence base for interventions. Computer literacy (Beginner/intermediate Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook). Experience coordinating projects, people, or services. Extensive knowledge regarding clinical practice in physical rehabilitation. To foster therapeutic relationships in the inter-disciplinary team by developing joint goals, sharing information, and promoting a collaborative approach to patient and family care and outcomes.
