Management Accountant(Growth to Financial Manager) RPO's client is seeking a dynamic professional to join their team as a Management Accountant and grow into the role of Financial Manager. The ideal candidate will have substantial exposure to management accounting, financial accounting processes, forecasting, job costing, bill of materials, budgeting, customer credit management, and systems implementation. You will assist directors and senior management in making critical business decisions by analysing and presenting key financial data. This role involves actively implementing new systems, managing the finance admin team, interacting closely with senior and middle management, setting up daily dashboards, overseeing accounting procedures, and preparing forecasts, budgets, and risk analysis. Responsibilities: Implement and improve both financial control and ERP systems to align management information to world-class standards. Ensure business transactions are reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Review and analyse expense variances for company management. Engage with manufacturing managers to develop sound costing models for optimal stock control for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods. Develop all cost-inclusive models with servicing managers to determine appropriate recovery rates. Identify major cost drivers with the procurement department to ensure effective price negotiations with suppliers. Ensure daily live stock control with the logistics store management department and accurate shared stock on hand data. Mentor finance and admin staff to achieve proper financial control process flows through detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Financial control of weekly and monthly payrolls. Develop budgeting and funding feasibility models. Assist the company in managing its investments. Handle foreign exchange purchases and negotiations (knowledge of SARS import and export regulations is advantageous). Manage the finance administration department to meet stringent deadlines. Assume responsibility for accounting-related policies and procedures. Evaluate the company's performance using key data. Compile forecasts to assist business planning and decision-making. Conduct risk assessments and advise on ways to minimise risk. Advise on challenges, suggest improvements, and provide solutions. Protect the organisation's value by keeping information confidential. Maintain SARS tax compliance at all times. Engage with external auditors to manage semester and annual SARS deliverables. Requirements Proven experience as a management accountant, accounting supervisor, or similar role. Solid knowledge of basic and advanced financial accounting principles and practices. Excellent knowledge of cost accounting and reporting. Strong knowledge of risk analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. Working knowledge of financial accounting, ERP, and MS Office software. Analytical mind with aptitude in practical maths. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Problem-solver with attention to detail. Strong organisational and leadership skills. Fluent in English (fluency in Afrikaans is advantageous). Sound knowledge of tax and VAT regulations. Experience in submitting SARS VAT and EMP returns. High levels of Emotional Intelligence / Quality for a rapidly changing growth environment. Minimum Requirement: BCom / BTech Accounting or Management Accounting. Completed SAIPA/SAICA/CIMA articles are advantageous (or proof of being in progress). 5 years post-qualifying professional working experience. Benefits Salary: negotiable.
