Regional Financial Manager Stellenbosch, South Africa Salary: From 55000 to 75000 (Ctc) - Monthly Location: The group comprises of a number of entities and joint ventures that successfully contribute to agricultural development in South Africa through the production and export of citrus products. Description Large, integrated and well-established group in the agriculture sector is looking to employ an experienced, motivated and driven Regional Financial Manager. This group has interests across the country and this role will be situated in either Paarl or Stellenbosch rural area in the Western Cape. The ideal candidate must be a go-getter, who is able to function independently, as well as in a team, and will have the ability to implement systems and process improvements. There is a preference for a candidate who is operationally inclined and experience or exposure within the agriculture, citrus, processing, or production environment will be highly beneficial. A formal tertiary and professional qualification is required, and experience with ERP systems will be an added advantage. The purpose of the role is to establish and maintain financial and management procedures for the organisation and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements relating to the financial disciplines of the business. The incumbent will ensure, in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer and General Manager, adequate resource acquisition for the development of the organisation. Duties and Responsibilities: Review, manage and ensure General Ledger code setup and accurate, meaningful financial accounting processing in the entity's ERP system - Business Central (Navision). Review and prepare monthly management journals, depreciation and recoveries. Review monthly reconciliations and checks to ensure integrity of financial information. Oversee and manage debtors, creditors and intercompany account maintenance, reconciliation and collection / payment. Compilation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs for external financial institutions and stakeholders. Management of annual external audit and preparation of statutory financial statements. Responsible for the review and submission of monthly VAT / SARS returns for the organisation. Cash flow planning and management, budget preparation and forecasting. Analysis of costs and driving for efficiencies in processes to drive profitability. Maintains financial security by establishing and following internal controls. Review and manage fixed asset register maintenance and verification. Review and improve procedures and controls for proper inventory control. Establish and maintain credible relationships with external and internal stakeholders, suppliers and customers. Risk management and mitigation through maintenance of insurance cover and recovery of loss. Information and knowledge sharing across farming, packhouses and coldstore landscape of the group to drive best practice and standardisation of information, data and procedures. Records management according to best practice. Ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions. Prepare and complete internal cost audits and analysis, to identify and recommend solutions to enhance competitiveness. Comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for financial statements. Ad hoc duties and responsibilities assigned by Senior Management. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or similar. Completed SAICA, SAIPA, CIMA articles. CA(SA), PA(SA), AGA(SA) or CIMA designation highly advantageous. Minimum 3 years' relevant commercial experience. Agriculture, Farming, Production, or Citrus experience beneficial. Advanced Excel with knowledge. ERP Accounting systems experience a plus, particularly Navision or Business Central. Ability to work under pressure. Communicate in a professional manner. High attention to detail.
