Immediate Superior: ((Albert Andersen)) Location: ((Stellenbosch)) Function: ((Supply Chain))Sub Function: ((Customer Service & Logistics))Type of Contract: ((Permanent))Reference Number: ((112331)) Closing Date: 16/04/2024 Purpose of the job The Finished Goods and RPM Transport Manager is responsible for the planning and execution for all primary customer, secondary and reverse logistics functions and activities. The position is a key function that works closely with Sales, CIC, Warehouse Operations, Imports, Procurement, Suppliers, and transport service providers. The role is responsible for execution of the transport strategy while driving accountability for managing cost reduction, achieving stringent transport metrics aligned to company transport, risk & safety, and environmental strategies to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction at the appropriate cost levels. The success of the position will be measured on safety, service, savings, and sustainability. This position will foster a healthy team culture, promote innovation, and drive results through effective team leadership and development. Key Responsibilities Safety and Sustainability Ensure that a safety and sustainability culture is entrenched with transport teams and all incidents, accidents and near misses are reported, investigation and corrective actions implemented and monitored. Implement sustainability programs and track to ensure targets are achieved. Operational Results Drive and manage primary, secondary and RPM teams to deliver on targets. Responsible to drive the RPM strategy within the Transport Pillar to ensure that returnable targets are met against agreed shared targets. Analyse and evaluate teams’ performance against Transport Pillar metrics and provide recommendations and insights to management team and planning teams to improve on the 4 S’s. Manage planning team load plans to achieve optimal productivity and within the required SLAs agreed with Production, Customer Service and Logistics Warehouse and RPM Teams. Manage the reporting and admin processes to enable the achievement of all operational, financial and customer service targets. Manage the national operational, financial and customer service performance of the FG/RPM Transport within the CSL Transport Pillar. Manage the key account delivery execution and coordinate with Sales/CIC/CSL Collaboration. Ensure compliance with Heineken Beverages’ Rules, Logistics Standards, Procedures, local legislation applicable to transport operations. Ensure service levels are met to deliver Case Fill Rate (CFR) focusing on the On Time component. Customer and Relationship Results Drive the cross-collaboration agenda within the CSLP Pillar, CIC and Sales teams. Build effective relationships with external and internal stakeholders. Professional communication, behaviour and actions result in a high level of credibility, trust and respect with internal and external stakeholders. Manage the Logistics Service Provider (LSP)relation and performance according to the LSP management approach in line with our strategy and standards. Innovation and Improvement Results Drive continuous improvement and implement business improvement initiatives. Share and implement new ideas regarding distribution planning and improving effectiveness of planning systems and processes. Collaborate with LSP’s and other stakeholders to identify and roll-out joint-improvement initiatives to improve performance. TPM and Continuous Improvement Drive continuous improvement by being a link to the Transport Pillar, its strategy and control systems, and manage support the Pillar Team, resources and improvement team planning according to TPM methodology. Management Information Reporting Prepare, articulate, and follows up on management reports, in line with global reporting standards and/or local requirements. Leadership Lead and manage change, in support of corporate, divisional and team goals. Clearly communicate and implement plans, initiatives and KPI’s. Develop a culture of excellence. Lead effective internal and external relationships. Develop sound business relations with Suppliers and Service Providers. Coach Teams in monitoring and improving the transport process execution. Qualification, Skills and Experience Required Degree in Logistics or similar 5 years minimum in both Primary and Secondary transport leadership roles – Operational execution Proven track record of successful leadership in managing middle to junior managers in a transport or logistics environment. Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to contribute to the development and execution of transport strategies. Experience in managing cost reduction initiatives and achieving transport related KPIs and metrics. Customer-centric mindset with a focus on delivering exceptional service and satisfaction. Demonstrated ability to foster a positive team culture, drive innovation, and promote continuous learning and development. Knowledge of industry best practices, emerging trends, and technological advancements in transport.
