Contract Type: Permanent Appointment Date: June 2024 or as soon as available thereafter Remuneration: Market-related; basic salary and commission structure Reference: MCOMAML_SCJun2024 Job Specification The successful candidate will be appointed as a sales consultant regarding regulatory compliance and risk management as it pertains to the FIC Act and Anti-Money Laundering legislation. They will be responsible for sourcing, engaging, contracting, and onboarding prospective clients within our AML consultation team, contributing to the development of the service offering, and building and maintenance of our client base. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background, excellent communication skills, and extensive experience in the marketing of professional consultation services. An understanding of Anti-Money Laundering legislation will be a distinct advantage. Job Specification Actively sourcing prescribed clients. The successful candidate will spend a substantial part of their time generating leads, corresponding with prospective clients and ultimately signing up new clients. Proactively identify and generate new business opportunities through various channels including networking, cold calling, referrals, and industry events. Establish, develop and maintain strong relationships with prospects and clients, understanding their AML compliance needs and offering tailored solutions to address their challenges. Conduct thorough consultations with potential clients to understand their business objectives, compliance requirements, and pain points, and provide expert guidance on how our AML consultation services can add value to their organization. Prepare and present compelling proposals and presentations that effectively communicate the benefits of our services and differentiate us from competitors. Manage the sales pipeline efficiently, from lead generation to closure, ensuring timely follow-ups, accurate forecasting, and consistent progress tracking. Receive, research, manage and respond timeously to client queries. Liaise with clients, prospective clients and industry role players. Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, legal, and compliance to ensure alignment on sales strategies, messaging, and client requirements. Staying informed on applicable legislation, industry developments and internal procedures; which may include anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CFT) risks, beneficial ownership, customer due diligence (CDD), Risk Management and Compliance Programme (RMCP), the implementation of effective controls, and the Financial Intelligence Centre and the FSCA’s risk-based supervision methodology and sanctions Administrative functions including reporting and required recordkeeping. Skills and Competencies Client relationship management, entrepreneurial mindset, effective and disciplined self-management (Functioning well under pressure, time management, adherence to deadlines, etc.), problem-solving and creativity, critical thinking, negotiation, presentation skills, and decision-making abilities, communication, research and recordkeeping, and digital and computer literacy. We value sales-focused professionals who can demonstrate their ability to meet and exceed targets, build relationships with clients, and drive revenue growth. Ability to develop, implement and manage a documented sales strategy. Ability to understand and apply legislation, and identify how it relates to clients’ needs. This may include skills related to compliance monitoring, compliance risk identification and management, regulatory guidance, analytical reporting, policy and document development and implementation. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or relevant. Preferred : Further education or studies in Law, AML, Compliance or Risk Management. Computer literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint&Outlook). Good command of written and spoken English and Afrikaans. Must have a positive outlook, be presentable and self-motivated. Valid driving license and own transportation as the successful applicant will need to attend meetings at clients’ offices. Knowledge and Experience Minimum of 5 years’ working experience and a proven track record in sales or business development; preferably within a role involved in the marketing and sales of professional and/or consultancy services. Working knowledge of FICA, ML/TF Control regulations and FIC guidance notes. Advantageous : Working experience in a legal, compliance, audit or financial environment with an understanding of governance, risk, compliance, assurance concepts, and operationalising compliance solutions. Advantageous : Working knowledge of international legislation and regulations relating to Anti-Money Laundering.
