Experienced corporate tax lawyer (5+ years PQE) Tax qualification From one of the top law firms in South Africa Prefer if the candidate is from the Western Cape (but not a must) Requirements: LLB Degree Tax qualification would be highly advantageous Admission as an Attorney in South Africa Legal Practice Council member in Good Standing 3 years post admission experience at a large, well-established law firm, or in the inhouse legal department of a large corporate group of companies Experience in corporate and commercial law is essential, and particularly in drafting and reviewing contracts Ability to conduct extensive research and having a detail-oriented approach Competencies: Excellent analytical and problem solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Highly motivated and reliable individual Ability to make sound judgements Ability to handle stressful situations and perform under pressure Computer literate Knowledge, Skills and Attributes: Extensive knowledge across the spectrum of commercial law Business acumen Development skills Adaptability and resilience Duties include but not limited to: Advising on company structures Contract drafting Due diligence Franchise agreements Explorations agreements International agreements Lease agreements Securities Service level agreements, Shareholder agreements Competition Law Capital Markets Corporate Law Banking&Finance Partnerships&Joint Ventures Sales&Purchase Agreements Energy&Minerals Consumer Law Corporate&Acquisitions Tax Licensing Privatisation Construction The candidate will be expected to conduct legal work for a variety of clients across a spectrum of industries.
