As a Software Engineering Manager, you will be an integral part of our forward-thinking team, leading multiple engineering teams and supporting across various technologies and skillsets. You'll have the opportunity to work on exciting challenges, shape the future of our engineering strategies, and make a tangible impact on a global scale.Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Technical Leadership:Plan and execute large deliveries considering dependencies and prioritiesEvolve technical architecture to address business needs and support future product requirementsManage multiple tracks of work simultaneously, prioritizing effectivelyTeam Growth and Success:Support the growth and success of engineers across Mukuru.Provide effective feedback to manage team members' performance and expectations, and identify strategic areas for development.Motivate and celebrate both team and individual achievements, promotinga culture of recognition and supportTechnical Expertise and InnovationDemonstrate expertise in infrastructure and technology stack, solving large-scale problems affecting the domainShape architecture and recommend improvements in stability, performance, and scalability Identify opportunities for new approaches, shaping team processes and strategiesRecruiting and Team BuildingPlay a key role in the recruiting process, planning team capacity and ensuring that we attract and retain world-class engineersEffectively communicate clear direction to team members, ensuring understanding of project goals and individual rolesPromote open channels for team communication, encouraging transparency and collaborationKey Requirements:Passion for people, technology and problem-solvingRelevant IT degree or diploma in the field of computer science10+ years’ experience working in software developmentDemonstrated knowledge of system architecture, technical design, and system and software development technologyExpertise with managing application development at scale, employing SDLC methodologies including Agile and ScrumExpertise with managing multiple teams across diverse projects, coordinating priorities to ensure efficient deliveryProblem-Solving and Management:Ability to quickly break down complex problemsEffective management of multiple teams and multiple tracks of workUnderstanding and solving business-critical problemsEffective Communication:Proficiency in clear, structured communicationAbility to provide clarity in direction and engage team communicationInfluential communication skills to drive decisions and strategiesTechnical Expertise:Expertise in infrastructure and technology stackAbility to solve large-scale or undefined problemsExperience in shaping architecture and driving improvementsAdditional Skills:Ability to collaborate effectively with DevOps teams to ensure seamless deployment and infrastructure supportExperience working alongside Head of Products, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders to achieve project goalsAbility to champion a collaborative ethos and prioritization within the teamA drive for process efficiency and the ability to introduce improvements in development processesI am sure you are reading this job description and meet majority of the criteria BUT you may also still not be 100% comfortable in applying.
