Position Overview: They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Manager to oversee the procurement process for their food distribution company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry and food sales, with a proven track record of securing competitive deals and maintaining optimal stock levels. This role requires exceptional negotiation skills, strategic planning abilities, and effective communication with food business directors to ensure smooth operations and profitability. Key Responsibilities: Procurement Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with company objectives, focusing on obtaining quality products at competitive prices. Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions for the procurement of food products. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent supply and quality. Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to optimize pricing, terms, and delivery schedules. Continuously monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and demand forecasts to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained at all times. Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to minimize stockouts and excess inventory, optimizing inventory turnover and reducing carrying costs. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure that purchased food products meet the company's quality standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular supplier audits and quality inspections to uphold product integrity and safety. Communication and Reporting: Communicate effectively with food business directors on a daily basis, providing updates on procurement activities, stock levels, and market conditions. Prepare and present comprehensive reports on procurement performance, cost analysis, and savings initiatives. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to procurement activities, including supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and quality issues. Develop contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies to minimize business impact. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement management, preferably in the food industry or food distribution sector. Strong knowledge of food products, market trends, and supplier networks. Proven negotiation skills with the ability to drive cost savings and value-added benefits. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite. Certification in procurement (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
