A prominent action sports and lifestyle company specialising in the design, production, and distribution of branded apparel, footwear, and accessories is seeking a Retail Store Manager for their Canal Walk stores.Skills & Requirements:Grade 12 qualification (minimum)2 - 3 years' experience in a store management roleProven management abilityComputer literateUnderstanding of/interest in the Company lifestyle and cultureExcellent merchandising and customer service skillsHigh energy levelsTechnical Outputs:Manages all store management responsibilitiesAchieves the store's sales plan, promotes and manages turnover in order to achieve targets setEnsures that Key-holder/Shift Leader responsibilities are carried outManages all administration tasks and ensures that the store is prepared for a store audit by the Senior Manager (consistent results over 90% are expected)Manages in-store expenses and ensures that spending is controlled within the expense budgetConducts morning sales meetings to discuss sales performance with all staffAttends management training sessionsConducts daily and weekly sales reviews with the Store Manager to discuss methods of extending the store and the improvement of all service levelsSets individual daily, weekly and monthly targets for staff and reviews these regularlyCompletes cash-ups and banking accurately and in good timeFully understands all criteria in the Operations Manual and manages the store according to the Operations Manual ProceduresManages all staff management responsibilitiesManages staff in accordance with the procedures contained in Operations and HR fileCompletes staff scheduling within the store's salary budget (public holidays included)Conducts staff succession planning and performance appraisals on a regular basis and ensure that staff files are kept up-to-dateTogether with the Assistant Manager, provides weekly staff training on product, customer service, multiple sales, merchandising, store discipline, policies and securityIn conjunction with the Senior Manager, participates in the recruitment of all store staffEnsures that the store provides great customer serviceMaintains good customer service skills and develops name to name relations with customersPromotes sales and assists the store in achieving sales targets to qualify for incentive paymentsMakes contact with key customers on a regular basis and advising them of promotions, new arrivals and clearance salesUpdates the customer requirements book regularlyMaintains excellent merchandising standardsMaintains the visual merchandising standards within the store in accordance to the Visual File and regular Visual DirectivesConducts general store housekeeping to ensure that all areas are kept neat and tidy and that all fixtures are in good working orderManages stock control and store securityRemains alert at all times to ensure the security of the store, staff and merchandiseMaintains pilferage control levels of less than 0.5% of turnoverManages all risk transactions on a daily basisAdheres to company expectationsEnsures that company policies and rules are followed at all timesEnsures that all memo's and instructions received from time to time are actioned promptly.Completes daily, weekly & monthly tasks accurately and in good time.Maintains good lines of communication with all staff, Senior Management and Head Office and asks questions to clarify understanding when necessaryBehavioural Outputs:Creates and manages effective teamsUses people management skills to facilitate a supportive environment where honesty and integrity are valuedApplies disciplinary action fairly and in accordance with company procedureListens to and fully involves others in team decisions and actions;
