Sales Representative – Kempton Park, Gauteng - Salary Dependent on ExperienceJOB SUMMARYThis external sales role requires individuals who are self-motivated and active in seeking new prospects, as well as developing new business from enquiries. Great business acumen and people skills are essential to secure new business and manage won accounts. The external sales representatives will be rewarded for actively seeking new business, as well as expanding wallet share of current accounts. Sales Representatives are expected to have a positive attitude even through challenging situations and will be supported in full by both management and office team in their role in order to manage customers’ orders for all packaging needs. Sales Representatives must be comfortable with travelling and may require staying away from home for extended periods of time. This position will focus on the sales of glass bottles & jars / closures / PET / flexible packaging products within the spirits, OTC, F&B, OTC, Healthcare.DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, SKILLS REQUIREMENTSSales TargetsProspecting: Identify, qualify, develop, and secure new business.Enquiry management: Responding to enquiries in a swift and clear manner, creating and sending quotes with price offers, as well as following up on quotations. Promotion of all product offerings.Business Retention: Maintain existing and new business by working closely with internal sales support to ensure timely execution of purchase orders.Establish effective working relationships and become a sustaining resource for the customer.Quoting and pricing customers and products to maximize value whilst providing a good quality product and service.Account Development: Develop existing customer base with regular visits to existing and potential customers to increase sales for new and existing product offerings.Developing Product Knowledge: Ongoing effective product knowledge to match customer packaging needs and identify new opportunities and possibilities to match further packaging needs with the aim to provide the ‘complete package’.Regular travel and visits to customers, preparation and travel times will often require working outside of normal working hours.Weekly reporting of updates and scheduling to line manager.Promoting and selling new products through trade shows and events as well as keeping track of relevant industry events and ongoing product developments.SkillsConsultative sales and prospecting skills.B2B sales experience involving complex, relationship-based transactions.Interpersonal effectiveness. Strong presentation, written, verbal, and perceptual skills.An exceptional level of motivation, desire, competitiveness, customer-driven focus, time management, and project management skills.A good technical aptitude to manage the product development process.Ability to travel, full driving license.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE:Minimum education: Grade 12.A tertiary qualification in sales & marketing management will be an advantage.Previous experience in packaging sales would be an advantage.At least 3-5 years’ experience in a sales rep role – ideally with experience in the packaging industry.Valid driver’s license.Ability to communicate with customers in Afrikaans and English.PERSONAL QUALITIES:Good administration & analytical skills.Attention to detail.Disciplined and self-motivated.Hands-on commitment to getting the job done.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Must be able to work with minimum supervision.Be proactive.Have a good technical aptitude.#J-18808-Ljbffr
