Join them in their journey to create meaningful experiences for both their team members and valued customersOur client is recruiting for an experienced Assistant Store Manager to join their team in Gugulethu, Cape Town.Job Purpose:Assist the Manager with the daily operations of the store, ensuring smooth running of all operations, maximizing sales, and minimizing cost. Allocate and delegate responsibilities to the team. Motivation of staff members to perform to maximum capacity. Boost revenue and develop the storeResponsibilities:Responsible to meet store targetsMaintain the store expenses within budgetOverall management of shrinkage within the storeMotivation of staff to buy in the success of the storeAssist with stock control, monitoring stock levels and purchasesAssist and participate in category stock counts as required, investigate variancesStock to be received and GRV procedure ensuring transfers, claims and invoices are captured correctlyAssist in the receiving function ensuring accurate stock in the right quantities received, returns done timeouslyAssist in managing the Front-End FunctionControl and check floatsEnsure cash up procedure is done correctly, and money dropped as per procedureOversee the staff component of the storeAssist with recruitment, training, orientation, appraisal, and supervision of the staff componentAssist with monthly scheduling of staff to optimize staff, limiting the use of outsourced staff and payment of overtimeStaff uniforms ensuring staff is always dressed neatly and correctlyEnsure compliance with store policies, procedures, and rulesGuide and motivate staff towards maximum performance planning, time management and productivity of staffThe Supervisor together with the Tops Manager will be responsible for the safety of the store, staff, and customersQualification and requirements:Grade 12Related qualification will be beneficial5 to 10 years managerial experience within retail environmentSalary - Market relatedWorking hours - Monday to Sunday (Shifts)Should you wish to apply for the position, please apply directly via this job board, please ensure that you quote reference number L37XRXX8 subject heading or email body.Surgo (Pty) Ltd will consider all applications in terms of its Employment Equity (EE) and is committed to maintaining diversity in its appointments.
