About the role: The Facultative Team is a dynamic group of professionals dedicated to managing the various opportunities and challenges associated with client management, market relationships, lead generation, pricing, underwriting, and portfolio monitoring. They are responsible for underwriting and ensuring the profitability of the single-risk facultative reinsurance portfolio for Property, Engineering, and Casualty risks in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. This role also involves developing and growing a sustainable book of business by exploiting new business potentials through active relationship development with clients and brokers. Salary : R900 000 - R1.2 Million per annum, depending on experience. Requirements: Business degree and/or suitable insurance qualifications such as ACII/AIISA; Minimum of 10 years professional experience in Facultative / Single Risk Property (Re) Insurance; Experience in international markets and with complex Facultative placements are preferred; Passion to actively seek out and conclude business opportunities; Conscientious business acumen, creativity; Expert communication, negotiation and presentation skills; Good IT and analytical skills; Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for conducting business across the African continent. Responsibilities: Developing and growing a sustainable book of business and exploiting new business potentials through active development of relationships with clients and brokers in South Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, and in major international markets; Portfolio management, quality assurance and technical consultation for the underwriting team and for allocated national or regional markets; Support in development of strategy for allocated national or regional markets; Underwriting of facultative property business, including assessing of risk, evaluating and providing reinsurance terms and conditions, in accordance with the applicable underwriting authority, underwriting guidelines, internal directives, targets and client strategies; Organising and conducting seminars/workshops for clients and internal staff, providing clients with value-added services; Organising and conducting surveys of large/complex property risks for clients, including preparing internal and external reports (if required); Assisting the treaty team in evaluating special treaty acceptance requests team from a technical point of view as and when required; Investigating and evaluating portfolio performance and market analysis; Maintaining and expanding technical and market know-how. #J-18808-Ljbffr
